 In the field of maintenance the traditional
approach has been to rely upon the knowledge and
skill of the craft-persons who conduct it. There is a
great deal of pride of workmanship and, in all too
many organizations, a great deal of psychic income
in addition to significant overtime pay for
successful emergency repairs to return equipment
to operation after unplanned shutdown.

SCHEDULE A
 Check for connections of motors, stators
and loose connections.
 Electrical wiring setting.
 Checking of motors foundation bolts.
 Safety checks on electrical systems, alarms
and sensors.

 Checking the motors belts and pulleys.
 Checking of pneumatic and hydraulic
system.
 Checking of lubrication oil and coolant oil.
 Checking of gear box and no sound
conditions.

 Replacement of filters and checking of lubrication oil.
 Complete checking and cleaning of coolant system.
 Setting of transmission box, clutches and pulleys’
alignment.
 Checking of the safety devices.
 Complete checking of machines’ elements e.g. beds,
slides and turrets.
 In working conditions there should be no sound in
parts of machine.

 In schedule C the reconditioning or overhauling of
machines is done, when it is required.

 This maintenance is done when required. The daily
breakdowns are included in this type of
maintenance.
