11. Academic History
One subject that has definitely benefited me is GCSE Design technology. Even
though Media and DT they have a lot of differences they also have their fair
few similarities one being logging your work. After we had either made a
model or thought of a new design you had log your work progress and your
thoughts on that certain matter also. They're are also both very creative and
hands on subjects.
Another subject that also has helped me prepare is GCSE Drama. Media is
mainly focussed on being behind the camera and editing but there are also
moments when you have to work in front of the camera, which I feel drama
has given be the confidence to do.
12. Current Study
Doing this course has helped by giving me an insight as to what
sort of things I would be working on in University. So far it has
taught be the skills as to what I need to know, such as video
editing, photoshop, how to film...
In particular I have been taught how to use Premier Pro and I
would feel confident in creating work on this specific software.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first year and all the work that went
with it, which has made it easier on the decision to carry on to
second year and also carry on with it to uni.
13. The Future
In the future I would love to work in the TV industry producing
and filming. The ideal situation would be to get an
apprenticeship with a company and work my way up from there.
If I did go to Uni it would be extremely helpful to get a degree in
filming as it would increase the chances of getting a job because
it would look a lot more appealing to a potential employer.
14. Outside College
Outside of college one of the main things I do as well as going out with
my friends is horse riding. I started at the age of 3 and when I was old
enough I started competing in all sorts such as show jumping,
dressage, cross country... Another hobby of mine for the past few
years is playing the piano and singing. I have completed multiple
grades and competed in a few competitions.
Currently I work two jobs, hairdressers on a Saturday and Pret A
Manger on other days. Both of these jobs have helped grow my
confidence and have given me the skill to talk to anybody and hold a
conversation.
In high school I participated in both CCF ( combined cadet force ) and
Duke of Edinburgh which both included voluntary work. It shows that I
was willing to work hard and hopefully this would set me apart from
other applicants.
15. Conclusion
I would like to go to University to learn and become more
qualified in media. It would help me achieve my dream job
producing for a TV company. I feel l would be a good candidate
as I am interested and enthusiastic in this subject which makes
me work harder.
16. Introduction
Every subject I have chosen is some form of film course. A couple
of courses I have chosen are locatected in Manchester, which
would be the most beneficial as the main TV film studios are
located there. The aim is to eventually work as in the TV industry
either filming, producing, directing...
