Harassment
Defination :
“”It is commonly understand as a
behaviour that demeans ,humilates or embarrases a
person and its unlikelihood in terms of social and
moral reasonableness.””
In legal sense ,these are behaviours that
appearto be disturbing ,upsetting, or the
threatening .They evolve from discriminatory
grounds .and have an effect of nullifying a person’s
rights or impairing a person from benefiting from
their rights .when this behaviour become repetitive ,it
is define as bullying . The continuity or
repetitiveness and the aspect of distressing ,alarming
or threating may distinguish it from insult .
Factors of Harassment :
According to the title of Civil Righat Acts of 1964 prohibits
Harassment ( unwanted action ) are on the basis of Race ,Religions,
Sexes ,National Origin, Disabilities , status, Age Change…..
Many people may believe that Haressment is of only one type
which is sexual but in reality Sexual Harassment is one of the most
common type of harassing behaviour.
Harassment is a prohibits speech or action which is serve or
pervasive enough to create a hostile or abusive work
environment .people are harassed in society under following factors and
their explaination are :
FACTORS :
1) Age : face by a person from childhood and goes
with life e.g neglecting a person in decision
making ,doing word by degrating him or her.
2) Disabilities : face by a person when having
disability regarding metal or physical health e.g
fat jokes ,making fun off.
3) Gender : most of the people still believe
that girls are made for housework girls to be
born in their house is a insult for them (with the
time people are awarding and educating theirs
girls like boys )..
4) Religions : because we are living a Islamic country
(Pakistan) having different religions and their followers some
people like it or some not it cause sometime contriductions and
disbalancy among people ( but now our government know who to
deal with such type of situations ).
5) Status : In modern society people are catagories into 3 classes
first/ high class( easily afford lagerious life )
Second /medal classs (basic need can easily fulfill )
Third/ poor class ( even basic needs , basic facilities ,,are not
fullfill )
6) National Origin : mostly face by the travellers specially when
they properly don’t unDerstand the rules and regulations or
sometime bully by the current citizens…
Types Of Harassment :
On the basis of these factors harassment is classified
into following three types which are as under :
1)Verbal Harassment
2)Visual Harassment
3)Physical Harassment
/ Sexual Harassment
Verbal Harassment :
Defination :
“””An act of violance in the form of speech
that decrease self confidence and adds to feelings
of helplessness .Or An action of
insulting ,harassing ,and labeling someone in a
communication pattern..
Example :
Threating ,yelling ,or rude behaviour with
people, cursing at a victim in public or
private ,making jokes ,teasing or asking for sexual
relation or favour etc
Visual Harassment :
Defination :
“” It is a situation where individual exposes
themselve to another person without the consent of
the victim and the act affected their performances or
attitude”” …..
Example :
Exposing private body parts ,pornography
(porn videos) ,sexual images ,staring at someone else
body offensively and make it uncomfortable for him
/her ,displaying nasty messages or content from a
website ,book or magazane.
Physical /Sexual Harassment :
Defination :
“”Sexual harassment is an act where
someone in appropriate touched you against
your will””…..
It is very in working place or in public
places what’s why it is called as working
place violance .it makes a person to feel
embarrass, threatens,uncomfortable and
make intimidates to the victim.
Example :
Sexual abuse/ rape, grapping
someone, touch body parts clothes without
permission , deliberatory brusling or
rubbing your body again someone ,using
intimidating gestures.
In school children are harassed by
teachers ,or from students as Well…..
Causes or Reason Behind Doing Harassment :
From different researchers Or sociologist experiment
certain are the factors influence a man or a women to harass people and
the factors are :
Dominance rather male or female
Bad Parenting with unhealthy gathering
Personal or sex life issues
Success handling / blocking of mind
Frustration of one another
Volience environment
Misread signs of women / misunderstanding
Unemployment issues
Satisfaction with own things
Environmental influences
Self perception (mental disorder)
Laws About Harassment In Pakistan :
It is mension in Act laws that to be harrass someone is
illlegal in pakistan and the punishment for this rule break is very strickly
design in order to make sensious system maintain…
Now under section 509 of Pakistan Penal Code, insulting the modesty of
women or sexually harassing them, is a crime. The perpetrator of this crime
may be punished with imprisonment, which may extend to 3 years or fine up
to PKR 500,000 (5 lakh) or with both.
A person who does something that is considered indecent and vulgar,
including singing or reciting a song with vulgar lyrics, shall be liable under
Section 354A of the Pakistan Penal Code (1860) and shall be imprisoned for
three months or may be given a fine or be ordered to do both.
A person who assaults a woman, uses physical force against her, or
strips her of her clothes for the public to see, shall be liable under Section
354A of the Pakistan Penal Code (1860). The accused may be given a
death sentence or imprisoned for life.
A person who forces a young girl under the age of eighteen to have
sexual intercourse with another person, shall be liable under Section
366A of the Pakistan Penal Code (1860) and charged with ten years of
imprisonment or with a fine.
Under Section 3 of the Protection Against Harassment of Women at
Workplace Act (2010). According to section 8 of the statute, women also
have an option to complain directly to the Ombudsperson.
Solution Of Harassment :
Through different researches and sociologist experiment
following the are ways to minimize harassment in any society .
* By Sension System (by making strick rules and
regulation against haressing people, makes them a responsible
person and a good human .
* Give them a better education for bright future .
* Good Parenting and provide healthy Enviroment
* Awaring people about laws( and make implementation
of laws possible to control harassment in society.
* Training and Supervision in Working place :
(give training to employes against harassment and discriminatory
treatment in public places as well through supervission ).
* Concerned to Psychologist for Mental issues :
(if people are having any mental issue must concerned to
psychologist because some time mind is full with the environmental
stress and need to concerned with someone who only hear them …
* Anti Harassed Courses :
(introduce and educate people about anti bulling and harassing
courses and make them able to differentiate between good or bad things

Factors of Harassment : According to the title of Civil Righat Acts of 1964 prohibits Harassment ( unwanted action ) are on the basis of Race ,Religions, Sexes ,National Origin, Disabilities , status, Age Change….. Many people may believe that Haressment is of only one type which is sexual but in reality Sexual Harassment is one of the most common type of harassing behaviour. Harassment is a prohibits speech or action which is serve or pervasive enough to create a hostile or abusive work environment .people are harassed in society under following factors and their explaination are :

FACTORS : 1) Age : face by a person from childhood and goes with life e.g neglecting a person in decision making ,doing word by degrating him or her. 2) Disabilities : face by a person when having disability regarding metal or physical health e.g fat jokes ,making fun off. 3) Gender : most of the people still believe that girls are made for housework girls to be born in their house is a insult for them (with the time people are awarding and educating theirs girls like boys )..
  • 6. 4) Religions : because we are living a Islamic country (Pakistan) having different religions and their followers some people like it or some not it cause sometime contriductions and disbalancy among people ( but now our government know who to deal with such type of situations ). 5) Status : In modern society people are catagories into 3 classes first/ high class( easily afford lagerious life ) Second /medal classs (basic need can easily fulfill ) Third/ poor class ( even basic needs , basic facilities ,,are not fullfill ) 6) National Origin : mostly face by the travellers specially when they properly don’t unDerstand the rules and regulations or sometime bully by the current citizens…
  • 7. Types Of Harassment : On the basis of these factors harassment is classified into following three types which are as under : 1)Verbal Harassment 2)Visual Harassment 3)Physical Harassment / Sexual Harassment

Verbal Harassment : Defination : “””An act of violance in the form of speech that decrease self confidence and adds to feelings of helplessness .Or An action of insulting ,harassing ,and labeling someone in a communication pattern.. Example : Threating ,yelling ,or rude behaviour with people, cursing at a victim in public or private ,making jokes ,teasing or asking for sexual relation or favour etc

Visual Harassment : Defination : “” It is a situation where individual exposes themselve to another person without the consent of the victim and the act affected their performances or attitude”” ….. Example : Exposing private body parts ,pornography (porn videos) ,sexual images ,staring at someone else body offensively and make it uncomfortable for him /her ,displaying nasty messages or content from a website ,book or magazane.
  • 10. Physical /Sexual Harassment : Defination : “”Sexual harassment is an act where someone in appropriate touched you against your will””….. It is very in working place or in public places what’s why it is called as working place violance .it makes a person to feel embarrass, threatens,uncomfortable and make intimidates to the victim.
  • 11. Example : Sexual abuse/ rape, grapping someone, touch body parts clothes without permission , deliberatory brusling or rubbing your body again someone ,using intimidating gestures. In school children are harassed by teachers ,or from students as Well…..

Causes or Reason Behind Doing Harassment : From different researchers Or sociologist experiment certain are the factors influence a man or a women to harass people and the factors are : Dominance rather male or female Bad Parenting with unhealthy gathering Personal or sex life issues Success handling / blocking of mind Frustration of one another Volience environment

Laws About Harassment In Pakistan : It is mension in Act laws that to be harrass someone is illlegal in pakistan and the punishment for this rule break is very strickly design in order to make sensious system maintain… Now under section 509 of Pakistan Penal Code, insulting the modesty of women or sexually harassing them, is a crime. The perpetrator of this crime may be punished with imprisonment, which may extend to 3 years or fine up to PKR 500,000 (5 lakh) or with both. A person who does something that is considered indecent and vulgar, including singing or reciting a song with vulgar lyrics, shall be liable under Section 354A of the Pakistan Penal Code (1860) and shall be imprisoned for three months or may be given a fine or be ordered to do both.
  • 15. A person who assaults a woman, uses physical force against her, or strips her of her clothes for the public to see, shall be liable under Section 354A of the Pakistan Penal Code (1860). The accused may be given a death sentence or imprisoned for life. A person who forces a young girl under the age of eighteen to have sexual intercourse with another person, shall be liable under Section 366A of the Pakistan Penal Code (1860) and charged with ten years of imprisonment or with a fine. Under Section 3 of the Protection Against Harassment of Women at Workplace Act (2010). According to section 8 of the statute, women also have an option to complain directly to the Ombudsperson.

Solution Of Harassment : Through different researches and sociologist experiment following the are ways to minimize harassment in any society . * By Sension System (by making strick rules and regulation against haressing people, makes them a responsible person and a good human . * Give them a better education for bright future . * Good Parenting and provide healthy Enviroment * Awaring people about laws( and make implementation of laws possible to control harassment in society.
  • 17. * Training and Supervision in Working place : (give training to employes against harassment and discriminatory treatment in public places as well through supervission ). * Concerned to Psychologist for Mental issues : (if people are having any mental issue must concerned to psychologist because some time mind is full with the environmental stress and need to concerned with someone who only hear them … * Anti Harassed Courses : (introduce and educate people about anti bulling and harassing courses and make them able to differentiate between good or bad things
