What Every RDC Volunteer Should Know
- 1. What Every RDC Volunteer Should Know
- 3. If you do not sign in for your volunteer shift, you will not get credit for that shift. This is because we have no way of verifying your attendance.
- 4. If you come late or leave early, please note this next to your name.
- 6. Please make sure that an intern or volunteer coordinator logs information about EACH student you work with over the course of your shift.
- 7. If don’t think your work with a student was logged, please talk to the intern or volunteer coordinator to verify.
- 11. We use this information to determine reliability for every volunteer at the end of the semester.
- 12. Please DO NOT call the RDC office or email any staff member personally to report an absence.
- 14. Volunteer Evaluations The RDC has its own evaluation protocol. For those volunteering for class credit through CSLCE, this has already been communicated with your professor. You do not need to bring any evaluation forms to us at the end of the semester. We complete our evaluations electronically and email them to your instructors, so there is nothing for you to pick up at the end of the semester. Students are expected to tutor consistently throughout the entire semester, regardless of the number of hours they are required to complete for their class. Failure to do so will be reflected in the end-of-semester evaluations.

A Few Notes About the RDC Building: The RDC is housed in a church building, and out of respect to the others with whom we share the building, we ask that you help us: Keep conversations and noise in the hallways to a minimum. PLEASE help us keep children out of the hallways, and remind them to be quiet and respectful as they come in and out of the building. - 17. Additional Ways to Help We’re on Facebook! Friend us, and tell your friends. Social networking is an important way to spread awareness about our programming. Want to host a fundraiser? Due to funding cuts, the RDC needs to raise a significant amount of money to keep our programming at full capacity next semester. Creative ideas for fundraisers on campus, in churches, etc. are welcomed! Want to make a donation? Any amount is highly appreciated—every little bit makes an impact in the lives of our clients!
