Lesson 10
(Modifying 3D objects part. 2)
Key Vocabulary: -
Merge: To combine objects into a new shape.
Subtract: To take away something from something else.
Overlap: To cover part of something, so that space is shared.
Section 1 – Merge
1- Select a cube and place it on the grid.
2- Select a sphere and place it over the cube so that is overlaps.
3- Now GO to the top combine menu, and CLICK the merge tool.
4- Select the cube as your target in the sub menu, (target solid/ mesh).
5- Select the sphere as your source in the sub menu, (target solid/ mesh).
6- Click on the empty part of the grid to finish.

Section 2 – Subtract
1- Select a cube and place it on the grid.
2- Select a sphere and place it over the cube so that it overlaps.
3- Go to the top menu, click the combine tool, and then subtract.
4- Select the target solid, the cube, tat is the object you want to keep.
5- Select the sphere, the source, this is the item that will be subtracted from
the cube.
6- Select subtract then click on an empty part of
the grid to finish.
7- Once complete, the source object will be
deleted and you are left with the target
shape.

Section 3 – Intersect
1- GO to the top menu and SELECT a cube and a sphere, PLACE both on
the grid.
2- Combine the two shapes. CLICK on the combine menu and SELECT
intersect.
3- SELECT the target shape, the cube.
4- SELECT the source shape, the sphere.
5- CLICK in the open space.

Section 4 – Separate
1- Select the object
2- Sketch 2d rectangle
3- Move it over the cylinder
4- Extrude it
5- Click the separate tool
