In the QS World University Rankings 2014 PFUR is again in the World Top-
500. In 2014, PFUR was listed among 471-480, which is 20 positions higher
than in 2013. Only 10 out of 1,100 Russian Universities are in Top-500 and
among which PFUR comes the 7th
.
The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities ranks PFUR 20th
among Russian Universities. According to Berlin principles of ranging
higher education institutions there are more than 20,000 universities
functioning around the world today. At the moment Peoples’Friendship
University of Russia is ranked 20th
among the universities in Russia and

among the universities in the world.
Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia has preserved its positions in the
National rating of universities 2013/2014 being ranked 5th among Russian
universities and 1st in the level of the development of international activity
(internationalization).
QS World University Rankings 2014: PFUR is in Top-100 of more than
7,000 universities of BRICS states: Brazil, Russia, India, China, South
African Republic. It’s not the first year that Peoples’Friendship University
of Russia is listed in Top-100 universities of BRICS steadily improving its
position year after year.

among universities of Georgia, CIS and Baltic
countries.

University Ranking- a‘green’rating of world universities published by the
Universitas Indonesia (UI).Only 8 Russian universities were ranked in the
list. PFUR was ranked 145th
among 300 universities from 61 countries and
4 Russian universities. Being included in the ‘green’ list is one more goal
achieved by PFUR in fulfilling its mission.
PFUR is ranked 2nd
in the number of patents for the period of
2002-2012 following State corporation «Rosatom». The ranking was
reported by Tomson&Reuters agency in 2014, which gave a complete
index-analysis of countries- members of G-20 in the field of scientific
research, innovation and intellectual property (The Research and
Innovation Performance of the G20).
PFUR has become the 1st
Russian university which became a member of European Association of
Faculties of Pharmacy (EAFP) on the initiative of the Department of Pharmaceutical and toxicological
chemistry of the Medical Institute. Today PFUR is the only university in the Russian
Federation which holds membership in EAFP.

The PFUR students held a round table «Tolerance and Cultural Diversity» at the A.P.Chekhov’s
Education Center №170. The event was attended by students of the 10th grade. The round table
was held by undergraduates from Syria, Egypt, Indonesia and Russia. The event was organized
by E. V. Kryazheva-Kartseva, Vice Dean for Informatization of the Faculty of Humanitarian and
Social Sciences.
Mr. Lamek Ntekela, the Ambassador of the Republic of
Botswana in the Russian Federation, paid a visit at PFUR.
Earlier, Mr. L. Ntekela worked in the department of Foreign
Trade of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Botswana.
He also was the CEO of the Botswana Export Development
and Investment Authority and its regional representative in
the European Union. The ambassador was received by V. M.
Filippov, PFUR rector and member of the Russian Academy
of Education. During their talks, the sides discussed the
possibility of signing an agreement on inter-university cooperation between PFUR and the
University of Botswana.
At the premises of the Faculty of Ecology an International Christmas Contest “The Future of
Russia” took place. The tournament was based on the results of 2013 which had been declared
by the President of the Russian Federation as a year of ecology. At the contest were presented
the ecological projects of students from Moscow, other cities of Russia and from Slovakia. The
Contest was organized by the Department of Ecological Monitoring and Forecasting.
The PFUR Agrarian Faculty became a set of a documentary made by Russian Agency of
International Information “RIA Novosti”. The main theme of the documentary “Technology of
cultivation of amaranth”. The main participants from the Faculty were Murat Gins, Laureate of
the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, professor of the
department of genetics, selection and plant growing and Doctor of Biological sciences, as well as
Elena Romanova, Vice Dean of the Agrarian Faculty for educational work, associate professor of
the Department of genetics, selection and plant growing and PhD holder in Agricultural sciences.
The Luzhniki Small Sports Arena hosted a friendly ice hockey match between student teams of
SU HSE and PFUR. The teams had already met during the opening match of MSHL which ended
with the win of the PFUR team. The friendly match finished with the score 3:3.
XIV All-Russian Conference“Comparative law and problems
of private law regulations in Russia and foreign countries”
was held. The conference featured more than 50 papers in
the field of Russian and foreign civil law and civil procedural
law, international commercial arbitration and alternative
dispute resolution. The conference was attended by
professors, undergraduate and post-graduate students of
PFUR, Sochi State University and Moscow Witte University.
The conference was organized by the PFUR Department of Civil and Labor Law.
The PFUR Interclub disco hall hosted a traditional annual
festival of student youth «Tatyana Day.» This year’s festival was
held in the form of a theme party “Dandies in the City”, which
included an entertaining concert program with songs, dances,
competitions, quizzes and prizes.
The PFUR Faculty of Law hosted an annual Interuniversity Science Conference “Contemporary
problems of administrative, informational and financial law in Russia and abroad”. This year
the conference was devoted to the contemporary problems of administrative, financial and
informational law in Russia and abroad.

Day. The event was attended by many enrollees and
their parents. In the meeting with enrollees participated

Football Club “Megasphera” hosted the quarterfinal games of the winter tournament on mini-
football ASSAFSTU-PFUR, which revealed the semifinalists. They were the teams of Guinea,
Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire and Mali.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences hosted at the premises of the Department
of Foreign Languages an Interuniversity scientific-practical conference “English language in
university: modern trends in teaching methods”. Participants of the conference discussed the
current trends in teaching foreign languages and online technologies in teaching English in
higher school.
Peoples’Friendship University of Russia held an expert meeting on the problems of coordination
of organizational and substantive aspects of a comprehensive exam on the Russian language,
Russian history and basics of the Russian law for migrant workers. The meeting was attended by
the representatives of the Russian Federal Migration Service, Ministry of Education and Science
as well as by the members of the test consortium.
In the framework of the XXII International Christmas Educational Readings and the conference
«St. Sergius Lavra and traditions of religious education in the Russian Orthodox Church» Peoples’
Friendship University of Russia held a session «Spiritual
and moral culture in higher education».
The session was organized by PFUR and Education
Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church.

the frame of the eco cinema-club.
The PFUR Museum of history held a memorial evening of
Patrice Lumumba, the 1st Prime Minister of the Democratic
Republic of Congo. During the evening the videos telling
about his life were presented. Among the participants
of the event were the employees of the Embassy of the
Democratic Republic of Congo, professors, university
teachers and students of the fraternities of the Democratic
Republic of the Congo.
At the Agrarian Faculty representatives of the Federal Agency on State Support of insurance in
agrarian industry and the Agrarian Faculty on key issues of agrarian expertise.

Students of the PFUR Institute of Foreign Languages participated in a linguistic and cultural
Internship Program organized by Istitutio Italiano (Florence, Italy). During the internship the
PFUR delegation visited linguistic and cultural tours in Florence, Milan, Siena and Padua.
PFUR students and members of the Association of young studiers of German Language went on
a linguistic and cultural trip to Germany and Austria. They visited Munich, Rothenburg ob der
Tauber, Nuremberg, Schwendau and Innsbruck.
IWEB students took part in the work of the on-site School of Economics at «Brazil in BRICS» in
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The main objective was to study the consumer market of Brazil and its
industrial and ecological potential.

Vasily Chuikov» which is awarded to employees of departments and
persons with special merits in the field of civil defense.
At the PFUR Academic Board the medal «Marshal Vasily Chuikov»
for many years of impeccable service to the cause of civil defense,
improving management, communication and alarm for civil defense
forces, was awarded to Yuri Fominykh, Head of PFUR Fire Prevention
Department, and Vadim Plyuschikov, Dean of the Agrarian Faculty and Doctor of agricultural
sciences.The medal was awarded byVladimir Avdotin, Head of the Department of FSI All-Russian
Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies of Russia (Federal Centre for Science and
High Technology) of EMERCOM, colonel and PhD in Technical Sciences.
Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia ranked in UI GreenMetric
World University Ranking published by Universitas Indonesia.
Only 8 educational institutions of Russia were featured in the
ranking of the most “green” universities of the world. PFUR ranked
145 among 300 universities from 61 countries of the world and 4
among Russian universities.
International ranking of the most environmentally-friendly
universities features organizations which meet such requirements
as the infrastructure of the university, the impact on climate, the availability of training programs
of ecological orientation, the use of technology for water purification, and waste treatment.

PFUR Sports Center hosted competitions on mini-football and badminton, in which Vietnamese
students from Moscow universities took part. At the opening ceremony was the first counselor
of the Ambassador of Vietnam to Russia.
Football Club“Megasphera”hosted the competition on mini-football among 4 teams of Nigerian
students of PFUR.
PFUR rector V. Filippov met A. Iksanov, new Executive Director of the CIS Interstate Fund for
Humanitarian Cooperation. During the meeting they noted the results of the CIS Network
University, discussed further cooperation and development of CIS NU.
Winter session of the Association of international
students in Russia took place. AIS in Russia is a non-
governmental organization representing more than 200
thousand foreign citizens from 160 countries of the world
studying in the educational institutions of the Russian
Federation. During the plenary session the delegates
heard the speeches of the members of the Board of
Trustees of the AIS Russia, as well as of the representatives
of MES of Russia, MFA of Russia, Rossotrudnichestvo,
INCORVUZ, FMS and other organizations that interact with foreign students. During the event
the participants discussed important problems of foreign students in Russia: learning and living
conditions, insurance, immigration law, employment opportunities.
PFUR rector V. Filippov received a delegation of Alfonso X
the Wise university (Madrid, Spain). On the part of the
Spanish delegation the event was attended by the Vice-
Rector for International Relations, Dr.Iris Nenez-Trebol
and the Senior official for Public Relations Mr.Alfredo
Urdaci.
Also the meeting was attended by the Attaché for the
questions of Education of the Embassy of Spain in Russia
Dr.TatianaDrozdovDiez.Duringthemeeting,anagreementoncooperationforthedevelopment
of such joint priority areas as engineering and medical sciences, tourism and linguistics was
reached. Particular attention was paid to the development of joint educational programs, as
well as strengthening academic mobility of students and faculty members . At the end of the
meeting the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities.
Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia
celebrates its 54th Anniversary. More than
1,000 guests came to congratulate PFUR. In
the hall representatives of about 100 countries,
graduates of different decades, professionals of
many areas were gathered.
In his welcoming speech PFUR Rector V. Filippov
said that PFUR had reached good results in the
past year, including not only the success of our
students and professors in the scientific and professional field, not only career steps of our
graduates, but also strengthening the position of Peoples’Friendship University in international
rankings.Thus, in Russia PFUR took 4-6 places in the ranking of the countries of the CIS, 7th in the
ranking of Baltic States and Georgia, and was featured as well in the TOP-500 world university
ranking.

Illustrious PFUR graduates congratulated their alma mater and shared fond memories of their
student life.
At the end of the official part V. Filippov invited all PFUR friends to the 55th Anniversary of the
University which will be held in a year, at the State Kremlin Palace.
PFUR delegation headed by Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs Prof. N. Kirabaev visited Germany
to participate in the Russian-German ceremonies to mark the opening of the «House of
Lomonosov» in Freiberg.
PFUR held the Culture Week of students from
Cameroon (Cameroon Youth Week). In the frame
of Culture Week the University organized National
fraternities exhibition, the conference «Economic
Cooperation of Cameroon and Russia at the Present
Stage», the evening concert and the tournament
on mini–football.
The results of the poetry contest under the slogan «My Peoples’ Friendship University» were
summed up. The winner was the second year student year of the Faculty of Humanities and
Social Sciences Ksenia Koshman.
PFUR IFL held a presentation“International activity in innovation HEI (by the example of IFL)”in
the frame of the Diplomat’s Day. Representatives of diplomatic missions of Argentina,Venezuela,
Columbia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay visited IFL on this occasion
and congratulated Director N.Sokolova and the students.
PFUR held the Winter academy on human rights, organized within
the project on implementation of the interuniversity master
program «International Protection of Human Rights» by Consortium
of higher education institutions (PFUR, MGIMO the MFA of Russia,
RSUH, KPFU, and PSU) with the support of Management of the High
Commissioner of the UN on human rights.
The winter academy on human rights is urged to strengthen the
partner relations between the Russian higher education institutions
members of Consortium in the field of implementation of the joint
master program on human rights.
The Department of Management and Economics of Pharmacy held a Student Scientific
Conference «The role and place of professional associations to improve the management of
pharmaceutical activity» which became a huge success. Students and professors of the Faculty
of Medicine of PFUR participated in the work of the conference.
A solemn event dedicated to Russian Diplomatic
Worker’s Day was held. The «Graduates of PFUR in
diplomatic service» round table event which took
place at the Rector’s Hall brought together more than
60 graduates of PFUR (who work now as Russian and
foreign diplomats), as well as professors of international
relations studies.

Department of Management and Economics of Pharmacy of the Medical Faculty organized
an all-Russia conference with international participation on the topic «Problems of continuity
of educational and professional standards in pharmacy». The conference was attended by
professors and teachers of medical and pharmaceutical universities from 15 regions of Russia,
as well as from the Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan, by representatives of domestic
manufacturers of innovative medicines and non-profit partnership for promotion of the
pharmacy industry development «Pharmacy Guild».
Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education «Unicum» organized an event as part
of the «University Saturdays» project developed by the Department of Education of Moscow.
School students visited 7 faculties of PFUR and attended lectures and seminars held by PFUR
professors.
The 1/8 finals games of the KVN of PFUR took place.The main
topic of the games was “Autumn”. The winner of the 1st day
was the KVN team of the Faculty of Economics «Baghdad».
The winner of the 2nd day was the KVN team of the Faculty
of Law «Imperia».
Hall 1 of the main building of PFUR hosted an interuniversity scientific and practical conference
“Problems of patriotic education of students”dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the liberation
of Leningrad from the Nazi siege.
Soloists of Interclub of PFUR participated in the regional
festival of patriotic song «Carnation». The winners – a
quartet (Shounak Mukherjee, Nathan Massena, Artur
Corella, Bkhavdip Bkharadava), a duet (Diana Dzyuba and
Amin Makarov) and the soloist of Preobrazheniye studio
Olga Gorskaya – are invited to participate in the final
concert.
PFUR IFL holds the Open Day «Live and Learn» providing individual consultations for potential
entrants to Bachelor’s and Master’s programs “Linguistics”, “European Studies”, “Psychologo-
pedagogic education” and Master’s programs in English “Theory of communication and
international PR”and“European Studies”.
The Hall of the main building of PFUR hosted national exhibitions of student fraternities of Iraq,
Libya and Palestine. The main building also hosted an exhibition of the student fraternity of
Lithuania dedicated to the Day of Independence of the Republic of Lithuania.
The Faculty of Ecology held at the premises of the laboratories “Ecological psychology” and
“Ecological Medicine”the“Profession Day”for school students of Moscow and Moscow Region.
The event was attended by students from Moscow schools and a team from Podolsk.
The final round for the winners of the university intellectual

In Yaroslavl the All-Russian club tournament of the Association of sports clubs for students in
Russia took place. 25 student sports teams with the total of 250 people came to Yaroslavl to
participate in these competitions, among them – the team of the PFUR sports club “Druzhba”.
According to the results of the All-Russian club tournament the athletes of the PFUR club
“Druzhba”successfully won gold pins in track and field and silver pins in swimming.
Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education
«Unicum» and representatives of more than 6 faculties of PFUR
participated in the Moscow Career Day. The event took place in
Sokolniki Exhibition Center and gathered about 6,000 visitors.
Delegation of the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences which included V. Tsvyk, Dean of
the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences, L. Ponomarenko, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of

paid an official visit to Jordan University. As a result of the meeting a new agreement on 2014
Summer language school for FHSS students studying Arabic was signed.
The University held culture days of students from the Dominican Republic. In the frame of
culture days national exhibitions of fraternities took place, films were shown and the evening
concert and disco in the Interclub of PFUR were organized.
The PFUR Museum held a round table dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of
Leningrad from the Nazi siege. The round table was attended by professors, staff and students
of PFUR. The round table was opened by Y. Lomko, participant of the Great Patriotic War and
professor of the Mass Communication Department of Philological Faculty.
Different buildings of PFUR held several national exhibitions of student associations from
Karachai-Cherkess, student fraternity from Yemen and student fraternity from Tajikistan.

Ambassador to Russia Mudzhvamariya Jeanne d’Arc.
During the meeting they discussed the issues of
cooperation between the University and the Embassy of
Rwanda in the Russian Federation.
The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in Moscow awarded Prof.
Natalia Mikheeva, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the Philological Faculty of PFUR,
member of International Academy of Sciences of Higher School and Doctor of Philological
Sciences, with a certificate and a badge of a participant of the Internet encyclopedia «Famous
scientists».
PFUR delegation which included N. Kirabaev, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs, and O. Ochirova,
Director of PFUR Center for strategic research of the Asian-Pacific region, visited the Faculty of
Philosophy of Tsinghua University which is considered the best technical university of China. At
the end of the visit the parties solemnly signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the
Faculty of Philosophy of Tsinghua University and PFUR.

ACAR Commission on HR andVocational Education made a sectoral research named «Ranking of

to the ranking the PFUR IWEB Department of advertising and business communications won an
honorable 2nd
place.
Professor V. Vorobyov, Doctor of philological sciences, corresponding
member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, HonoraryWorker
of Higher Education became the Laureate of state prize in education.
The prize is awarded for the educational project «Linguocultural
concept of teaching Russian language in the multi-ethnic society:
methodology, methodological system, technologies of introduction».
Press service of the City center for professional and career development made a list of the top 10
students. As specified, the best of the best were chosen among the scholarship holders of the
Moscow government. The winner from PFUR became Alexey Tsarev, a 2nd year student of the
Department of Information Technology of the Faculty of Science.
XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games
successfully took place in Sochi. PFUR was represented at
the Olympics by over 30 volunteer students from all faculties
and institutes, and more than 100 students did an internship.
PFUR volunteers worked at all sites and in all directions,
including support of delegations of athletes, the opening
and closing ceremonies at Fischt stadium, comprehensive
administrative work for competition in cross country skiing
and biathlon «Laura», health care and much more.
Following the Order of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitri
Medvedev №229-r dated 20.02.2014 Vladimir Filippov is appointed as a
plenipotentiary representative of the Russian Federation at the Council on
Cooperation in Education of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
K.Romanov, graduate ‘2005 of the Faculty of Ecology is awarded with the badge “For
achievements in nature protection”.
The team of the student research club of the Department of Operative Surgery and Clinical
Anatomy entered the finals of the XXIII All-Russia student Olympics on surgery n.a. academician
M.Perelman to be held in April 2014 in Budapest (Hungary). The team of talented students will
be prepared by professors of the Department of Operative Surgery and Clinical Anatomy of
PFUR Medical Faculty.

XXI Century» took place, and representative of various
faculties and institutes of PFUR, as well as staff of the
Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education
«Unicum» actively participated in it, the latter offering
full-time and distance training for SFE and USE and
creativity competitions.
Students of the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Studies of PFUR helped to organize and
hold the festival of Maslenitsa at the Education Center №170. In the competition program
participated not only the children, but also their parents.

A new period of the realization of program “Reproductive health of the students” that includes
interactive educational technologies started. More that 400 of first year students (in the field
of medical business) with their professors expressed their opinions on the questions of health
life-style and risk factors for the reproductive health. Any student could ask a question that
interested him and get help on the feedback channel with the department. The results of the
non-stop monitoring of students’answers will become a base for the development of the events
that improves students’health.
PFUR held national fraternities exhibitions of students
from Bulgaria and Moldova.
PFUR participated in the international conference «Combatting radicalization of public
sentiment that fuels terrorism». The conference was held under the auspices of the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Russian presidency in G8. It was attended
by representatives of key international organizations (UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, SCO) and
Russian public authorities, heads of traditional religions, leading experts, public figures and
representatives of academia as well.
Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia submitted a paper at the 2nd session of the conference
dedicated to the role of educational and scientific institutions in the context of combatting
radicalization of public sentiment that fuels terrorism.
During the discussions O. Andreeva, Vice-rector for international relations, and Aslan Abashidze,
Head of the Department of International Law of PFUR, expressed their opinions on the matter
in question.
PFUR IFL hosted the final tour of the student contest “You’re
simply the best”. The contest was timed to coincide with
International Women’s Day on March 8. The winners of the
contest «You’re simply the best» were students Evgenia
Smirnova, Egor Gusak, Natalia Safianova and Taisia Larkina.
The combined PFUR KVN team successfully performed
at the eighth finals of KVN Major League in the Central
Academic Theatre of the Russian Army and proceeded to the
quarterfinals.
PFUR held national fraternity exhibition of students from Ukraine devoted to the 200th
anniversary of the great Ukrainian writer and poet Taras Shevchenko. Shevchenko’s books,
booklets, prospectuses and other attributes of culture of the people of Ukraine were shown at
the exhibition.
Chess tournament took place in the frame of the 52nd University Olympics.
More than 150 people donated blood during the PFUR Donor’s
Day, which is regularly held at the University.
Igor Mintusov, one of the founders of the political consulting profession in Russia, chairman of
the board of directors of Russia’s first PR-agency «Niccolo M», member of the Board of Directors of
the European and International Association of Political Consultants (EAPC and IAPC respectively)
and vice president of the Russian Association of Public Relations (RAPR), visited the PFUR IWEB.

PFUR hosted Days of Culture of Cuban students featuring national exhibitions of the fraternity.
The representative office of Rossotrudnuchestvo in Malta held a
recital of Galina Trofimova, professor of the Department of the Mass
Communication Department of Philological Faculty, Honorary worker
of culture of the RF and soloist of the A. P. Borodin Symphony Orchestra.
Guests of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Valletta were
presented with a musical and literary program, dedicated to the 200th
anniversary of M. Lermontov.
At the premises of the Department of Constitutional and Municipal Law of the Faculty of Law
PFUR hosted III All-Russian scientific and practical conference“Interaction between the state and
society: new trends”. 70 guests attended this event, including representatives of the regions of the
Russian Federation: Kaluga region, Orel region, Khabarovsk Krai, the Republic ofTuva, Kabardino-
Balkaria, the Chelyabinsk region, Vologda region, Vladimir region, and Moscow region.
PFUR hosted a regional tour of design and research projects of school students involved in the
«Fair of Ideas in the Southwest». A.Petryaeva, PFUR SSC Chairman and Agrarian Faculty SSC
Chairman, was the expert at this contest.
PFUR held the XV Culture Week of students from the Middle
East countries (XV Arabic Culture Week). As part of the
Culture Week different buildings of PFUR hosted national
fraternities exhibitions of students from Yemen, Jordan,
Sudan, Lebanon and Syria, as well as photo-exhibition, mini-
football tournament, the exhibition of Arab literature and a
conference “Arab literature as seen by the Arabists”. Mr Jalal
Almashta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
of the League of Arab States to the Russian Federation, as well as Ambassador Extraordinary
and Plenipotentiary and the staff of diplomatic missions of 11 countries of the Middle East, were
invited to the official opening ceremony. XV Week of Arab Culture ended with a solemn concert.
At the solemn meeting of the Academic Board of PFUR a ceremony
of granting the Diploma of PFUR Doctor Honoris Causa to professor
Willi Jäger, Director of the Centre for scientific calculations of
Heidelberg University took place.
After the ceremony Prof. Jäger met V. Tsvyk, Dean of the Faculty
of Humanitarian and Social Sciences, and delivered a lecture
«Synergy of Methods – Mathematical and Computational Tools for
Cultural Sciences» (in English).
PFUR SEC “Nanotechnologies” participated in the 2014 Global Entrepreneurship Congress. The
Congress gathered in Moscow over 5,000 participants from 156 countries.
The second round of the PFUR championship in basketball among departments started in the
frame of the 52nd University Olympics.
The Faculty of Science held public lectures of Willi Jäger, Senior Professor at the Heidelberg
University, Knight of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and PFUR Doctor

PFUR hosted VI international scientific and practical conference “Topical problems of modern
linguistics and humanities”. The international scientific meeting was organized by PFUR IFL and
Catholiс University of Lille (France).
As part of the project“Famous travelers of the world”of the PFURTourist club students, professors
and graduates met with a famous traveler Vladimir Goltis Vuksta, leader of the team of travellers
“Equites”.
The final event of Youth competition for the best enterprise initiative «Moscow youth start –
2014» (Spring final) took place. The competition is accredited according to “UMNIK” program of
the Foundation of assistance to small forms of enterprises in the scientific and technical sphere.
The winners of the competition will get grants from the Foundation of assistance to small forms
of enterprises in the scientific and technical sphere to bring their projects to life.
Also as part of the final event 12 projects got another year of financing under the “UMNIK”
program.
PFUR FRLaGED assembly hall held a Cultural evening of the student fraternities of Iran dedicated
to the Iranian New Year celebrations. The event was attended by Iranian students from PFUR and
other Moscow universities as well as PFUR students from other countries.
PFUR held a national exhibition of the student fraternity of Bangladesh. The exhibition was
dedicated to the “Independence Day” and featured folk art, souvenirs, ornaments, symbols,
books, booklets, and other attributes of the culture of the people of Bangladesh.
PFUR Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences held a solemn
event dedicated to the International Day of Historian.
With the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Organization «Federal Agency for State
Support of Insurance in the field of agricultural production» and Russian Peoples’ Friendship
University held the II Conference «Independent expertise in agricultural insurance: development
prospects».
PFUR SEC “Nanotechnologies” participated in the forum
“Nanotechnology” held in conjunction with the network
association NanoBRIDGE and the Federal Ministry of Education
and Research of Germany (BMBF).
At the clinical premises of the PFUR Department of hospital treatment the State Clinical Hospital
№52 held the III Russian Scientific-Practical Conference «Clinical and laboratory aspects of
modern hematology». This event is held twice a year. The conference main topic is «Anemia.
Modern methods of diagnostic s and treatment».
The PFUR main building hall held a student contest “Miss
PFUR 2014”. We congratulate Stefania Andrianova on her

International scientific conference «Law and Society: evolution in cooperation», dedicated to the

The “Yunost” swimming pool held a PFUR Championship in swimming in the frame of the 52nd

the International scientific conference «Russian-German dialogue on sustainable development».
The conference was held at the German Research Center of the Earth in Potsdam (Germany),
which is part of the Helmholtz association of research centers.
Soloists of the studios “Preobrazhenie” and «Raduga» took part in the 1st round of the Moscow
festival of student creativity «Festos 2014» in the nomination «Pop Song».
Novosibirsk hosted the second all-Russia research and
practice seminar “The Reproductive potential of Russia:
Siberian readings”. Peoples` friendship university of Russia
was the co-organizer of this seminar, as well as the Ministry
of Education and Science of the Russian Federation,
the Ministry of Health of the Novosibirsk region, the
Priority national project «Education» and other top level
organizations. The total number of participants was more
than 1,200. V. Radzinsky, Honored Scientist of Russia, Doctor of Medical sciences, professor,
Head of PFUR Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology, vice-president of the
Russian Association of obstetrician-gynecologists (Moscow) took part in the seminar as the
representative of Peoples` friendship university of Russia.
Delegation of Peoples’friendship university medical students traveled to Hungary (Semmelweis
University) to participate in the International Scientific Conference «Semmelweis International
Students’ Conference 2014». Reports and demonstration of manual skills of our students
received high marks and were awarded prizes.
Peoples’ friendship university of Russia held an Open Day.
Traditionally the event was attended by many enrollees and their
parents. Before the speech of the members of the Presidium the
guests of the event saw a documentary about the University. At
the meeting with enrollees participated Vice-Rector for Public
Relations Elena Martynenko, chairman of the selection committee
Roman Linko, Director of the Center for multidisciplinary pre-
university education «Unicum» Irina Barysheva and Director of the Life Sciences School «Medic»

The PFUR Sports Center gym hosted the mini-football finals in the frame of the 52nd University
Olympics. In the game for the 3rd place team of the Faculty of Humanitarian and Social Sciences
won over the team of the Faculty of Law with a score of 2:1, and in the final the Faculty of
Engineering team won over the Faculty of Science team with a score of 5:2.
PFUR held the national exhibition of Armenian students dedicated to Mother’s Day which is
annually celebrated in Armenia and symbolizes the Woman, Mother, beauty and spring.
The University held the XIV festival of students from the
countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. The festival
featured the final of mini-football championship which was
held in the Sports Center of PFUR, photo exhibition, the
conference devoted to «Dictatorship and Civil Resistance in
the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean», national
exhibitions of student associations, an interactive game «Fall
in love with America» and a concert «We are Latin America and the Caribbean».
The student contest «Mr. Agrarian Faculty - 2014» was held. Along with the traditional contest «Miss
Agricultural Faculty,» student competition, «Mr. Agrarian Faculty» is very popular among students.

The Ecological Faculty of PFUR held its annual scientific-practical conference «Topical problems
of ecology and environmental management». The students, graduate students and scientists
from Russia, China, Moldova and Kazakhstan were actively involved in the conference.
The participants discussed current scientific and practical problems in the field of ecology,
environment and environmental management.
María Luisa Ramos Urzagaste, Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Bolivia to Russia and Jenny Mandesairu Tapia
Lopez, Second Secretary of the Embassy, visited PFUR IFL. The guests
participated in the meeting dedicated to the Year of Plurinational
State of Bolivia in PFUR IFL.
Department of Normal Physiology of the Faculty of Medicine held a joint meeting of the student
scientific circle and philosophical seminar on «Human Reproduction Problems».
PFUR held the national exhibition of the student fraternity from Azerbaijan to mark the 22th
anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and the
Republic of Azerbaijan.
Dr. Riad Haddad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of
the Syrian Arab Republic, visited PFUR and met professor V. Filippov,
PFUR Rector. PFUR Interclub held a meeting of Dr. Riad Haddad,

Republic, and PFUR students from Syria. The meeting marked the
Syria National Day.
PFUR Interclub hosted a concert of the student fraternity from Nepal, dedicated to the
celebration of the Nepali New Year. The evening was attended by Nepalese students from PFUR
and other Moscow universities, as well as by PFUR students from other countries.

1st KVN game which marked the beginning of the KVN movement in PFUR.

was held at the Department of theory and history of journalism of the Philological faculty. The
conference was attended by Dmitri Kiselev, General Director of the Russian International News
Agency «Russia Today», Deputy General Director of VGTRK and a TV broadcaster.
Fraternity of the Iranian students with the assistance of a cultural department of the Iranian
Embassy in Russia held a cultural and art exhibition «Culture Day of Iran at PFUR». A. Gladush,

The Department of Social and Differential Psychology
of the Faculty of Philology of PFUR held VII International
scientific-practical conference «Higher school:
experience, problems and prospects». Foreign
participants included representatives from CIS and
foreign countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria,
China, Nigeria, Moldova, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Armenia,
Belarus and Tajikistan).
PFUR Faculty of Economics held VI All-Russian research and practice conference “Modern
economic theory and Russian economic reforming” devoted to V. Stanis’ anniversary. The
scientific event cofounder is the Association of French macroeconomists CEMAFI-internationale.
VI International Scientific and Practical Conference «Current problems of linguistics and didactics
of foreign language in business and professional communication» was held at the Department
of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Economics with the assistance of the British Council,
Instituto de Cervantes, Goethe Cultural Center, University of Westminster (UK), Instituto Dante
Alighieri (Italy) and other co-organizers of the world level.
PFUR hosted another tour of the “Fair of Ideas in the
Southwest” for school students of 5-11 grades. As a result of
this stage 2014, 298 projects were selected from more than a
thousand school projects in the humanities, natural sciences,
social, technological and informational disciplines which had
been assessed by the jury that included experts in the areas of
knowledge that matched the project subjects.
PFUR Interclub held a concert of the student fraternity from Bangladesh dedicated to the
celebration of Bengali New Year.
The Foreign Minister of Mozambique, Mr.Oldemiru Zhiliu Marquez Bala, visited PFUR. The visit
was initiated by the Mozambican side in the frame of his working visit to Russia. Mr.Oldemiru
Zhiliu Marquez Bala was received by the Vice-Rector for International Relations O.Andreeva.

The Department of foreign languages of the Philological Faculty of PFUR in association with
the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Latin America of
the Russian Academy of Sciences, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow State Institute
of International Relations and the Academy of Professional Development and Re-training of
Educators, held an International research and practice conference “I Firsova’s readings. Present
cross-cultural communication problems”dedicated to professor Natalya Firsova, leading Russian
hispanist, academician of the International Higher Education Academy of Sciences and Doctor
of Philological Sciences.
PFUR held an exhibition of the student association of Georgia.
PFUR Faculty of Medicine held for the first time an International scientific and practical
conference «Quality of life, health psychology and education: a multidisciplinary approach».
Among other co-organizers of the conference were the Ministry of Education and Science of
the Russian Federation, Institute of trace elements of UNESCO and other famous universities
and organizations.
PFUR team took part in the University Olympic Games of
the Union State, which took place in Pinsk, Belarus.
PFUR international KVN team participated in the television
recording of the quarterfinals of the “KVN. Major League”.
According to the results of the game, PFUR team passed to
the semifinals.
PFUR held a successful gala concert of the international dancing ensemble “Rhythms of
friendship”.
The PFUR main building assembly hall held a closing concert of the XX Folklore festival «Peoples

Amateur groups of Interclub and PFUR fraternities took part
in “Festos-2014” Moscow student art festival in different
nominations- Folklore academy, Student song, Art reading,
Dancing Non-Stop, and were invited to participate in the final

Student amateur group“Music Planet”and Galina Trofimova, mass media department professor

PFUR Sports Center stadium hosted annual cricket tournament “Rector’s Cup” held by the
association of Asian students of PFUR. 6 student teams from Asian countries and 2 student
teams from Latin America and the Caribbean participated in the tournament. The winners
were the students from the team of India.
The annual international sports festival «7th Belgrade Sport Tournament» took place in a
sports centre in Belgrade. The winners of the project of the Association of the student and
youth sport Moscow Youth’s games including PFUR’s Rugby team represented Russia at these
competitions. Among the rivals of our champions were the athletes from Libya, Cyprus, Croatia,
Germany, Switzerland and Serbia. As a result of the competitions our Rugby combined team
won a knock-down victory over the festival’s masters.
“Planet South-West” student festival was organized
in PFUR (together with South-western administrative
district of Moscow). The festival program featured
national exhibitions of fraternities (80 exhibitions in
total) and a concert program. More than 4,000 people
(PFUR students, professors and staff, World War II
veterans and school students of South-western district
of Moscow, representatives of the diplomatic corps of
foreign countries in the Russian Federation) participated
in the event. N. Kirabaev, Vice Rector of PFUR, V. Sheikin, Chairman of the Board of World War
II veterans from South-western district of Moscow and Major General and O. Volkov, Prefect of
the South-Western district of Moscow, delivered speeches at the official opening ceremony of
the festival.
The winners of the VI Moscow Youth Patriotic Contest
“Spring’ 45…” participated in the gala concert in the
frame of the project «Victory Ball «At six o’clock in the
evening ... «, which was held in the Hermitage Garden.
Sports Center stadium hosted the Football Championship of Africa in which 12 teams of student
fraternities from African countries were to participate.

More than 300 people from 50 countries participated in the forum, among them mostly
delegations of the Ministries of Education and several global NGOs. V. Filippov was elected
member of the Forum Project Team, which was engaged in the preparation of the final
documents.
PFUR held the Culture Week of students from the Republic of India. In
the frame of Culture Week the University organized the round table
“Modern India. Problems and perspectives of development”, national
fraternities exhibitions, the demonstration of an Indian movie, a concert
in the assembly hall of PFUR Interclub and cricket tournament at the
PFUR stadium.
The Faculty of Medicine held an Olympiad «Star of physiology». The Olympiad was held by
professors of the Department of normal physiology.
The delegation of professors of Russian traveled to Estonia (Tallinn, Tartu) for B1 and B2 levels
testing of citizens. Our test team along with their Estonian colleagues organized B2 level tests
for students of Russian-speaking schools. The Exam was equated to USE.

V. Filippov, Rector of PFUR, met PFUR alumni at the reception held in the Sultanate by Oman
Envarbik Fazelyanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation.
The meeting was attended by PFUR graduates who are now doing business in Oman.
The University hosted a round table: «My family during the Great Patriotic War» dedicated to
the 69th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Students listened

The Department of Normal Physiology of the Medical Faculty held
an Interuniversity scientific and practical conference «Problems of preventive and regenerative

“MEFI-2014”, the XII annual festival of students` films took place in Peoples` friendship university

The Department of theory and history of international relations of the PFUR Faculty of
Humanitarian and Social Sciences held a round table: «Pereyaslav Rada: from Ukraine and Russia
reunion to the sovereign state». The need for a round table discussion dedicated to the analysis
of the role and place of Ukraine in the modern world and the process of formation and evolution
of its foreign policy is quite obvious.
The Center for multidisciplinary pre-university education «Unicum» held the entrance test for

PFUR held the III All-Russian scientific and practical conference «Socio-oriented management in
the context of globalization», organized by the Department of Management of the PFUR Faculty
of Economics. The conference was attended by 50 scientists from various cities of the CIS and
abroad.
The first graduate of the Faculty of Engineering from Peru
Zamalloa Rodolfo Lopez visited the University 50 years after
the graduation.
The Faculty of Law welcomed a delegation from Finland represented by the Director of
the Institute of prison and probation Hannu Kiehelä and senior lecturer of the Institute Arja
Saunamäki. During the visit, the round table «Penitentiary and criminal policy of Russia and
Finland», which addressed the issues of the education system in Finland and academic exchange
between Finland and Russia, was held.
The University held culture days of students from Abkhazia. In the frame of culture days national
exhibitions of fraternities, Tasty Festival and concert in PFUR Interclub took place.
DelegationofPFURonbehalfoftheFederalAgencyfortheCommonwealthofIndependentStates,
Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo)
organized several scientific and methodological activities for teachers and professors of the
Russian language in France. Days of the Russian language took place in two French cities: Paris
and Strasbourg.
In Ufa (Bashkortostan) the PFUR delegation headed by Vice-Rector for International Relations
O. Andreeva took part in the VII Week of Education for the States members of the Shanghai
Cooperation Organization «Education without Borders».
PFUR main building assembly hall hosted a competition “Miss
Philological faculty 2014”. The winner was the 1 year student Diana
Levkovich (Belarus) majoring in PR.
The Interclub assembly hall held the concert of the folk studio
“Raduga”–“Songs from around the world”.
The Ural State Economic University in Yekaterinburg hosted the V Eurasian Youth Economic
Forum «Dialogue of Civilizations: Green Economy». The delegation of students of the
Department of engineering business and enterprise management won a prize and got gold,
silver and bronze medals.
PFUR held national exhibitions of the student associations from the Republic of North Ossetia,
student fraternities from South Ossetia, and student association from Ingushetia.
PFUR opened its doors for its graduates. For over 50 years, the University has been forming
the world’s elite. Among the PFUR graduates are State Duma deputies, politicians, managers
of large enterprises, outstanding athletes and famous diplomats. The University is proud of its
graduates.
The University administration met with graduates who had accepted the invitation to visit their
alma mater again. The Rector of PFUR Vladimir Filippov held a reception in the Rectorate hall
of the main building. The main purpose of this event was to discuss the issues of interaction
between alumni and the University, as well as to present the Peoples’ Friendship University

Interclub assembly hall hosted the concert of the Theatre of
Oriental Dance «Amaren» - «Fairy Tale of the Orient».
At the Sports Center main stadium in the frame of the XXVI
Moscow Student Games our football team met with the MIREA
team. Our team won with the score 4-0.
“Holiday Inn Moscow Sokolniki” held the III Interdisciplinary Forum «Medicine of mammary
gland». PFUR was one of the organizers of the forum, held under the auspices of the PFUR
Information and Education Program (PNP «Education»).
PFUR Interclub held a gala evening concert of student fraternity from Jordan, dedicated to the
national holiday «Independence Day» and «Day of the army». The concert was attended by
Acting Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Russian Federation, Mr.Bashar
al-Druze.
PFUR held a solemn award ceremony for the volunteers
of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic
Winter Games in Sochi. 22 volunteers who had been the
official PFUR representatives at the Sochi Olympics were
honored with the Citation of the Organizing Committee for
their contribution to the organization and holding of the
XXII Olympic Games of 2014 in Sochi, as well as with the
Citation of the Agency for the ceremony.
The awards were handed to the students by Vice-Rector for Public Relations E. Martynenko and
deans of the faculties of the volunteers. The photo of all the participants featured the Rector of
PFUR Vladimir Filippov and Vice Rectors of the University.
At the Sports Center gym the Small World Cup «Rector Cup 2014» in volleyball started.
The conference hall of the Faculty of Economics hosted the IV
International Conference “BRICS: development cooperation.
Network cooperation between BRICS universities in training
for the innovation economy”.

Francophone students from PFUR and MSLU competed in the first football match “Franco-
football”, where PFUR team won the game.
The meeting of the Council of Deans of Faculties of
Medicine from state universities of the Russian Ministry
of education was held at PFUR. Among the participants
were: Leonid Roshal (famous pediatric surgeon, DSc,
chairman of the National Medical Chamber), Tatiana
Semenova (Director of the Department of Medical
Education and Personnel Policy in Health), Irina
Mosicheva (Deputy Director of the Department of Public
Policy in Higher education of the Ministry of Education
of the Russian Federation) and other professionals in the
healthcare field.
In the Assembly Hall of the Interclub PFUR A students gathered at a traditional meeting. At
the end of the event the activists of the Student council of hostels were awarded honorary
certificates and prizes.
Representatives of the Peoples’ Friendship University went for linguistic training to the
Edinburgh Napier University (UK). Summer School participants not only increased the level
of English proficiency, but also gained project work and presentation skills. All the program
participants received internship certificates.
The delegation of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, headed by the
Vice-President, President of the General Assembly and the Senate,
Dr. Danilo Astori visited Peoples’ Friendship University. The meeting
was held during the official visit of Vice-President of the Russian
Federation at the invitation of the Chairman of the Federation
Council of the Russian Federation V. Matvienko. During his visit the
parties discussed the expansion of cooperation in the field of culture
and education and training of qualified personnel for the country.
PFUR IFL held an open day “Live and Learn” and presented programs of further training,
retraining, advanced training of foreign languages“Lifelong Learning”.
At the main PFUR football stadium a football game between the national teams of Russia and
Brazil was held. The event was timed to two significant events: the Day of Russia and World Cup
2014. Brazil’s national team defeated the team of Russia with a score (2: 0).

Wail Benjelloun (Morocco) visited PFUR. Mr. Wail
Benjelloun was received by PFUR Rector prof.V.Filippov.
In his welcoming speech the rector emphasized the
importance of cooperation with the University of
Mohammed V. Special attention was paid to such areas
of cooperation as academic exchanges, joint research in
the field of Arab studies, organization and conduction
of joint annual scientific conferences alternately at the
PFUR and at the University of Mohammed V on topical
issues of Russian-Arab cooperation and others. The
meeting was concluded with the signing of the Work Agenda for cooperation for four years.

In the mountain resort «Rosa Hutor» (Krasnodar region) a summit «Role of mega-events in
the sustainable development of tourism», organized by the World Tourism Organization in
cooperation with the Federal Agency for Tourism was held.
The summit was attended by more than 150 participants from 26 countries: tourism ministers,
representatives of the tourism administrations of the Russian regions, tourist and information
centers, among them Svetlana Dikhtyar, Director of the Institute of Hospitality and Tourism
of PFUR, Vice-President of the International Association AMFORHT for Russia and countries of
Eastern Europe.
The Institute of Hospitality and Tourism held a traditional conference «Current problems and
prospects of development of the hospitality industry» in English. IV and V-th year students
summed up their four-year training program «Translator in professional communications».
A meeting of the Coordination Council on the establishment
of the National Rectors’ Board for BRICS Network University
was held.
The conference was chaired by Rector Vladimir Filippov.
At the meeting participants voiced positive opinions and
evaluations of BRICS network university, set goals and
defined the concept and purpose of NU BRICS and also
presented the whole organization of educational process at
the university, including the disciplines and mandatory internships.
PFUR IFL received Julius Amaniel Mdzhemah, the Chargé d’affaires of the United Republic of
Tanzania in Russia. Mr. Mdzhemah participated in the ceremonial meeting of the Academic
Council dedicated to the XV graduation ceremony of the Institute, which was held in the
Assembly hall in the PFUR main building.
At PFUR young researchers from the Czech Republic held a meeting with Vice-Rector for
International Relations Andreeva O.V. and representatives of the Faculty of Philology. During
the meeting they discussed issues of cooperation in the field of Russian language teaching,
academic and student exchange.
On the basis of the Faculty of Law of the Peoples’ Friendship
University Summer School on Human Rights was held. As part
of the Summer School for the first time in Russia the contest in
the English language «Model of the European Court of Human
Rights» was held. In the competition teams from PFUR, MGIMO
(University) of the MFA of Russia, Russian State Humanitarian
University, KFU and PSU took part.
Graduates- 2014 went on Moscow River boat excursions. Such
excursions have become a trademark and tradition of the
University.
Peoples’Friendship University received our 1971 graduate from the Faculty of Agriculture Saab
Fares Abi Saab. He was welcomed by the Dean of the faculty, Professor V.Plyuschikov. They
discussed issues of possible cooperation between PFUR and the Lebanese National University.
Saab Fares Abu Saab accepted the Dean’s offer to join the Editorial Board of the Bulletin of the
Faculty of Agriculture «Agriculture and animal husbandry».
Natalia Mikheeva, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology,
academician of the International Academy of Higher Education, DSc and professor held a
presentation on the problems of acculturation and teaching Spanish at the V World Congress of
the International Federation of Teachers of Spanish, celebrated in Spain, Cuenca.

In Bishkek and Cholpon-Ata, Issyk-Kul region of the
Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the Interstate Fund
for Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS member states and
of the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism of
the Kyrgyz Republic the III Forum of young intellectuals
«Youth of CIS - Eco-culture and tourism, nature security,
innovation» devoted to the Year of Tourism in the
CIS countries was held. The Forum was attended by
30 students and graduate students of the Peoples’
Friendship University of Russia.
The Rector of the State Institute of International Relations of Moldova (GIMOM) V.Benyuk and
Vice-Rector of the European University of Moldova (EUM) A.Burian paid a visit to the Peoples’
Friendship University and was received by Vice-Rector for International Relations O.Andreeva
and Deputy Director of the Institute of International Programs N.Vostrikova.
The Faculty of Engineering held XI International Symposium «Intelligent Systems» INTELS-2014.
The aim of the symposium was to discuss a wide range of issues related to the use of the latest
scientific and technological achievements in the elaboration, creation and implementation of
control systems of new generation and intelligent information processing systems.
On the basis of PFUR was held the I Forum of Foreign Graduates of Russian higher education
institutions. The forum was attended by foreign graduates from Russian universities and PFUR,
as well as by students, leaders of student organizations and associations of Peoples’Friendship
University. The forum participants took part in a videoconference and in the discussion: «We
studied in Russia: Russian modern education through the eyes of foreign graduates».
Famous PFUR alumnus Sangadji Tarbayev is elected to the Civic Chamber of
the Russian Federation for 2014-2017.
The organizing committee of Open Student Internet Olympic Games awarded PFUR with the
title “Winner of Open Student Internet Olympic Games- 2014” pointing out special role of the
University as an institution with great strategic ambitions in choosing talented youth.
“Smart E-Moto RUDN” team of the Department of exploitation of auto vehicle took the 3rd
place among 14 European HEIs at Smartmoto Challenge championship in Spain (Barcelona).
We congratulate students of the Engineering Faculty: A.Trunova, I.Pinchukova, V.Stepanova,
V.Boyarkin, T.Levandovsky, A.Rybin and E.Gladkov. Smartmoto Challenge – championship of
light electric motorcycles made by students of the Engineering HEIs. Students are supposed to
build L1E and L3E European standards motorcycles and present a feasibility study explaining
manufacturing and selling opportunities.

Faculty of Philology held a solemn ceremony of presentation of award «Student Oscar» for the
best film among first-year students.
Students of «Advertising and Public Relations» underwent training in Riga, at the University of
RISEBA. Students attended a huge number of interesting classes and workshops. Students from
PFUR and RISEBA worked together on a real project “Discover Latvia” and presented it to the
customer.
The brightest and long anticipated event of landscape art
- III Moscow International Festival of Gardens and Flowers
“MOSCOW FLOWER SHOW” took place in Gorky Central Park
of Culture and Leisure. It brought together the landscape
industry professionals, architects, designers and florists from
Russia, Great Britain, France, Italy and other countries. The
event is traditionally attended by students of the Faculty of
Agriculture majoring in «Landscape architecture and design».
90 years since the birth of Stanis V.F., Rector of the University of Friendship
of Patrice Lumumba - Russian Peoples’ Friendship University in 1970-1993,
President of the Peoples’Friendship University in 1993 -2003. His more than
thirty years of work at the University can be called without doubt the «Age
of Stanis».
Representatives of the Faculty of Philology participated in Tikhvin Esperanto workshops that
were held in the Leningrad region, near Lake Tsaritsino. They attended lectures and master
classes in linguistics, linguistics and philology.
A delegation of young political representatives from Europe arrived at PFUR. The visit was part
of the «New Generation» program, short-term study visits to the Russian Federation for young
representatives of political, social, scientific and business circles of foreign states.
Folkloric studio «Raduga» invited friends to the concert «Let’s sing
about summer!» The concert was held in the concert hall of PFUR
Interclub.
Graduation of 102 extramural students, majoring in «Law» in Stavropol city.
PFUR amateur teams of Interclub - ensemble «Drums of
Africa», Dance Ensemble from the Ivory Coast, soloists of
the studio «Raduga» Vingel Bazi (Haiti) and Arthur Correia
(Cape Verde) - took part in the X International Festival of folk
groups «Crystal key - 2014 «, which took place in the village
of Sartakova, Nizhny Novgorod region.
In the frame of the Day of PR-specialist, PFUR held a public lecture, which main purpose was the
solution of practical cases. All the participants had a chance to try their hand at elaboration of
PR-campaigns.
