Motivation Letter
Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing this letter to show my interest to apply for the EUMA internship award, for given duration
of 3-6 months. This letter describes my reason for choosing these host universities TNO (the
Netherland), XLIM (France) and University of Birmingham and provide detailed background about me.
This is Engineer Sanaullah, Working as a Research Assistant at Electrical Engineering Department in
Sukkur IBA University. I have done my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering (Specialization in
Electronics) from Sukkur IBA University, Pakistan in 2020. I am currently enrolled as a Student of
Master of Engineering in the Field of Communication and Signal Processing (CSP) at Sukkur IBA
University.
I am having a Good understanding of designing, optimization, fabrication and testing of microwave
components. My Final year project (FYP) during my graduation was "Improved Interference
Rejection for Mobile Base Station". A new designs for ceramic-filled rectangular waveguide filters
were proposed. These Microwave filters consist of a mono blocks of high permittivity material which
offers 50% size reduction in comparison of other microwave bandpass filters. A microwave bandpass
filters were designed with better selectivity and improved spurious performance without compromising
the electrical performance of a filter.
My Research Paper having title “Ultra-Improved stop band Rejection of a Ceramic Filter using
ridge Resonator” Published in Sindh University Research journal (SURJ) “Science Series”.
I Worked on Designing different type of Waveguide Filters, Micro-strip Patch Antennas and Horn
Antenna designed at 2.45 GHz for weed Control management System.
My ultimate goal is to focus on research and development of different passive components in the field
of RF & microwave technology specifically on Microwave Filters in different technologies. As these
microwave filters are one of the major components of different Communication Systems like; Satellite
communication, Cellular Communication, Radar Systems etc. This the reason why I want to improve
and excel myself in a career associated with the design and development of the components/systems
related to these applications. That’s why I believe having a chance of internship in these prestigious
institution related to following fields is a best opportunity for me to gain Practical Exposure on
technology related to real time analysis of wireless communication components on industrial level.
Moreover, In future my goals are to work in collaboration with any of these institution on Microwave
related technologies to utilize my gained experience in my home country for improvement of Work on
the Real time Problem that will help in solving the Problem which may come in the upcoming Era of
Communication System.
