What is IEEE?
IEEE stands for Institute of Electrical and
Electronic Engineers.
The world's largest professional
association for the advancement of
technology.
It has more than 450 000 members.
http://www.ieee.org/
Introduction
IEEEmadC is Mobile Applications
Development Contest
All students across the globe can participate
Teams up to 3 members
Developed mobile applications are applying
technology for humanity and focused to
benefit technology, science or education
http://ieeemadc.org/
Motivation Mobile applications belong to the one of the
fastest growing segments of the ICT
industry. The BOOM in mobile applications
development is happening just TODAY!
As per predictions, in 2017, mobile apps will
be downloaded more than 268 billion times,
generating revenue of more than $77 billion
and making apps one of the most popular
computing tools for users across the globe,
according to Gartner, Inc. Moreover,
emerging technology trends globally such as:
Location Based Services
Internet of Things
Combination of AR into Utility Applications
Revolution of VR into particular reality
Impact of wearable technology growth
Vision
We help students to not just make their
future with new technology but also utilize
their talent in developing local community
and solving some of the world’s largest
problems.
We want to give an equal opportunity to
students all over the world to not just prove
their name in application development but
also get globally recognized by creating
something that can be implemented, tested
and expanded to be able to create an impact.
Concept
IEEEmadC is organized in four phases. Each phase is about 2 months
Education Stage
• Workshops /
lectures
organized by
ambassadors
around the
globe
• Webinars with
experts from
industry
Idea
Submission
Stage
• Describe app
idea (max. 150
words). Ideas
are evalated
and selected
ones are
requested to
start
designing.
Application
Development
Stage
• Development
of mobile
applications
according to
the submitted
idea
Judging Stage
• Esteemed
Judges from
Industry and
Academia
evaluate and
judge
applications
Objectives and target
It is not just a contest!
• Contest = Motivation
• Education in MAD field
• Enable students to easier find
job/start company/get an internship
• Develop numerous useful mobile
applications
• Use mobile technologies for the
benefit of humanity
• Promote IEEE activities and benefitsCredit: Ken Banks, kiwanja.net
Mobile platforms
Participants can develop applications for various platforms like:
+400 application ideas
+800 Participants
+100 Ambassadors per year around the globe
+115 developed mobile applications
+12 000 likes on Facebook
+10 team winners
Results from 2013 to 2016
Ambassadors
• >130-150 IEEEmadC student
ambassadros per year
• >60 IEEE Sections
• >65 Workshops and Lectures
• >800 Participants
• Have a repository of around 500 published applications on Google play
store.
• A widely global recognized students contests
• Around 5,000 students would have participated
• Possibly 100,000 followers on social media
• Almost 300+ ambassadors each year
• Will reach to 100 countries from six continents of the world
• Sponsors from Industry and Academia
• Judges and mentors from Silicon Valley and top companies
How will IEEEmadC look like in next five
years
Sponsorship models
Taking into account the project scope, we need a financial support in order to
assure the success and high quality of the project. All means will be used for the
organization of the event, promotional materials, technical requirements for the
participants and awards. For this year we have prepared the following sponsorship

Testimonials from our Judges
Last year I had the honor of
serving as a jury in the
IEEEmadC contest organized by
a dynamic group of IEEE student
members volunteers. The
contest aims to foster students
to develop their engineering,
social and team skills. It was an
incredible experience to assess
the quality of mobile apps
developed by teams from
around the world! I surely advise
everyone to participate in this
well organized and enthusiastic
contest!
Ricardo Queirós, Professor at
POLITÉCNICO DO PORTO
I've been a MadC judge for
the past 2 years now and it's
been a really great
experience. I was very
surprised at the amount of
creativity there is among
students. It's hard to choose
just one project which
impressed me because there
are so many that i love. It
sounds cliche but every
student who participates for
MadC has the potential to
change the world with their
talent and I can't wait to see
what they have in store for
me this year!
