Scaler Architecture: 2DBitBlt Resampling
• A hardware efficient scaling algorithm.
• Adapted with modifications from an Image warping algorithm.
• Has potential for parallel processing and Multi-resolution scaling.
• Weighted Resampling technique with variable weights.
• Has no limitation on decimation factor, no power of 2 limitation.
• Accomplish anti-aliasing as part of the algorithm.
• Behavior is very similar to mip-level generation for 3D graphics

2DBitBlt resampling scaler
• Advantages
- Simple Architecture, Single Line buffer.
- Anti-aliasing guaranteed by design
- Outperform more expensive architectures in terms of
aliasing behavior ( e.g. Bicubic, 4 line buffer polyphase)
- More usable decimation range compared to Polyphase
- Unlimited decimation in single Pass.
• Disadvantage
– Image is somewhat softer than Bicubic.
