2. WELCOME TO OPEN HOUSE
• THANK YOU for being here. It means so much to me and especially your scholar.
• My goals are to:
• Help you to understand what your scholar will learn in this class
• To explain my expectations of your scholar
• To brief you on the policies and procedures of the Niceville School District, how those
policies apply to my class and to explain the procedures of my class

3. JUST A LITTLE ABOUT ME…
• I am a mom to Chloe’ who’s 12 years
old
• Originally from Baton Rouge, LA
• Graduated from Southern University in
Baton Rouge in 2009-B.S. Business
Mgt.
• Obtained a Teaching Certification from
Belhaven University
• I enjoy shopping, travelling, and
watching television
• I hope to inspire your scholar

4. BUSINESS EDUCATION
• This class is designed to help students understand the basic skills and knowledge
needed to become gainfully employed and to be productive, contributing members of
society, or to continue education to the collegiate level and beyond.

5. GRADING SCALE…
• 90-100 A
• 80-89 B
• 70-79 C
• 60-69 D
• 68-0 F
• If your scholar receives a grade of 68 or below he/she may have the opportunity to
revise the assignment for additional points. These opportunities are given at my
discretion.
• This grading scale is set forth by the Niceville School District and can be found in the
handbook on page 25.

6. ATTENDANCE/ARRIVAL TO CLASS
• Your scholar can not learn if he/she is not present
• Arrival to class ON TIME is imperative.
• Absences and tardies will be handled per the N.C.D. policy found on page 35.

7. HOMEWORK…
• Homework is assigned based on the days lesson.
• Scholars may not have homework every time they attend class.
• Homework is written on the board.
• If homework is not assigned scholars are still required to study what was covered in
class.
• I do check for homework. Homework counts in overall grade computation.
• Please sign up for REMIND 101 to stay abreast of homework and assignments.

8. ASSESSMENTS…
• Scholars will be assessed in a variety of ways including
• In class discussions
• Projects-Individual and Group
• Individual Assignments
• Class work
• Homework
• Quizzes
• Tests

9. MAKE UP WORK POLICY
• If you miss class it is YOUR responsibility to make up assignments.
• All make up work is placed in the PINK MAKE UP FOLDER located behind the
classroom door
• You have 3 days to turn in make up assignments. After 3 days a grade of zero (0)will be
recorded and I will notify your parent or guardian of the missed assignment and failing
grade.
• If you are not present on test days you must make an appointment to make up that
test upon returning to school. Make up test are given in essay format.
