Certified librarians (specialists in the field of scientific information) roles:
- Prepare students of the first year of undergraduate studies to use the Library's offer on their own,
- Offer workshops in the computer rooms to students of the 3rd year of bachelor and 1st year of master
studies,
- Help PhD students to create a bibliographic workshop, presenting them search strategies and library
services and resources.
- Convince scientists to use programs to manage bibliographies and familiarize them with methods that can
effectively help increase the citation of scientific papers. Librarians show how to skillfully select
information, navigate the world of bibliometric indicators and use electronic sources.
6. CYCLIC WORKSHOPS
Electronic informations sources – workshops for PhD students:
❖ 10 hours,
❖ detailed knowledge of specialized electronic resources in student’s scientific field,
❖ new resources appearing in the offers of publishers and Open Access,
❖ PhD student gonna know the most important Polish and foreign bibliographic publications,
library catalogs, electronic magazines, specialist databases, virtual libraries, the AMUR
institutional repository and bibliometric methods used in the assessment of science and
scientists.
❖ student will be able to use bibliographic managers or to calculate the Hirsch index,
❖ student will understand the necessity to popularize his scientific field in social media or blogs.
7. „How to increase citation index of scientific papers” –
workshops for researchers:
❖ number of hours should be determined by researchers needs,
❖ searching for citation index in Web of Science, SCOPUS;
❖ bibliometric indicators: Hirsch index for assessing the scientist's
achievements, Impact Factor for magazine evaluation;
❖ benefits from depositing work in the AMUR repository,
❖ visibility of publications and citations in Google Scholar Citations;

magazines, a traditional resource from the catalog of
AMU libraries as well as the AMUR institutional
