Resilience is one of the hottest topics in business and one of the most important. Resilient organisations weather storms, and not only survive difficulties, actually thrive. Dr Rosabeth Moss Kanter of the Harvard Business School advocates that successful organisations need to be fast, focused, flexible, friendly and fun – many of the qualities that make up resilience. So what is the picture of resilience in the workforce today? What are the advantages of increasing resilience, and what does it look like? Do leaders feel they have the levels of resilience they require both in themselves and their teams? This is an initial exploration of answers to these questions. The research was conducted by Space2BE and the Work Life Balance Centre – two organisations at the forefront of organisational performance, employee wellbeing and corporate development.
