3. What is Entrepreneurship?

● involves effort and time to develop business strategies, considering
the financial, psychic, and social risks, which results in generating
financial rewards, personal satisfaction, and independence (Hisrich
and Peters, 2002; Quoted by Stokes et al., 2010).
● individual’s willingness and ability to foresee and generate new
economic opportunities (Wennekers and Thurik, 1999; Quoted by
Stokes et al., 2010, p.7).
● producing new ideas or concepts (innovation) to help in facing the
uncertainty and problems faced by businesses (Wennekers and
Thurik, 1999; Quoted by Stokes et al., 2010, p.7).

as the informal sector, such as the street
vendors.
Micro
Enterprise
Has the nature of craftsmen but does not
have the entrepreneurial nature.
Small
Enterprise
Has an entrepreneurial spirit and is able to
accept subcontracting and exporting jobs.
Medium
Enterprise
Has an entrepreneurial spirit and will expand
into a bigger business.
