1. I have more than 20 years of experience in modeling, simulation and experimental design.
I have made several practical applications for solving problems I have worked with.
The first one is what I call a functionfinder. It takes a raw data set and finds a function
describing this set. It is automated to a great extent. It has a library of functions that it can test
automatically. It has been used to make a model for correlating engine size and fuel efficiency
at different loads for engine size ranging from about 15 kW to 5800 kW/Cylinder.
Then there is the optimizer. It is an excel/VBA based application. It finds the optimal or close
to optimal solution for the utilization of a collection of different sources to obtain the most
economical use of the collection. The application is a general optimizer and search algorithm
that can handle any combination of cost functions.
Particle size distribution: A model system for simulating the curves from different
measurements and for mixes of different powders.
Thermodynamics: Calculations of vapor pressures and compositions in two-phase semibatch
reactors.
