Boy Scouts of America Five minutes to speak • Who am I? • Not going to talk about: Something for all ages – Cub Scouts (Boys 7-11) – * Boy Scouts ( Boys 11-18) – * Venture and Sea Scouts (Coed, 14-21) – * Alpha Phi Omega (Coed, no age, must be a student at the chapter’s college) • * Youth led organizations: Adults lead and advise older scouts. Older Scouts teach younger scouts. – Adults (21….) • Not going to talk about : Advancement programs – Tiger through Webelos – Scout through Eagle – Quartermaster and Silver Venturing • Not going to talk about: Camping programs – Goshen, Snyder, National Jamboree • Am going to talk about: Boy Scouts prepares young men and women to be responsible citizens in our community – Reinforces citizenship – Reinforces physical fitness – Reinforces faith – Reinforces leadership, self- confidence – Learn and fail in a safe environment
