• State Institute of Hotel Management, Rohtak is an
autonomous body under Department of Tourism,
Govt. of Haryana.
• Rohtak town is situated 70 km South to Delhi on the
National Highway No 10 and is well connected to rail
& road net works.
• Rohtak is famous for its well-known education
institutes – Maharshi Dayanad University and Pt.
Bhagwat Dayal Sharma P.G.I. M.S. Rohtak. State
Institute of Hotel Management is an addition to
‘Rohtak Educational Orbit’.

4. • The Institute is affiliated to National Council for Hotel
Management & Catering Technology (NCHMCT)
which is the apex formation in the country for
educational & professional training in Hospitality
Management and Operation.
• The Inauguration of the Institute took place on 21st
August, 2012 in the gracious presence of the
Honorable Tourism Minister (Govt of India),
Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana and other
dignitaries
• The Institute has a team of well qualified and
experienced faculty who impart professional training
to students

• Hunnar se Rozgar (Skill building certificate
course conducted by Ministry of Tourism)
6. BSC IN HOSPITALITY & HOTEL
ADMINISTRATION
• This is a 3yr degree course which includes a 17 week
internship in the 2nd
year
• The internship offers students exposure into the
hotel industry with the opportunity to train in some
of the leading 5 star hotels of India
• The following subjects are taught: Front Office, Food
Production, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Service,
Accounts, Computers, Food Science, Communication,
Tourism
8. DIPLOMA IN FOOD PRODUCTION
• This is a 1yr course which includes a 17 week
internship after the course
• This course is suitable for those students who
would like to specialize in the Food &
Beverage department
• The following subjects are taught :Food
Production (theory & practical), Hygiene &
nutrition, Computers, Costing & commodities
10. DIPLOMA IN FOOD AND BEVERAGE
SERVICE
• This is a 1yr course which includes a 17 week
internship after the course
• This course is suitable for those students who
would like to specialize in the Food &
Beverage department
• The following subjects are taught :Food &
Beverage (theory & practical), Hygiene &
sanitation, Computers, Business

11. SELECTION PROCESS
• Minimum Qualification for Admission to 3 Years B.Sc. in
Hospitality & Hotel Administration
• Passing marks in the examination of 10+2 system of Senior
Secondary Education or its equivalent with English as one of
the compulsory subject. In addition students are required to
clear the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) conducted by the National
Council for Hotel Management & Catering Technology
• Minimum Qualification for Admission to Diploma Courses in
Food Production and Food & Beverage Service
Clear pass in the final examination of 10+2 system of Senior
Secondary Examination or its equivalent, with English.
12. SCHOLARSHIP
• Scholarship is provided to eligible SC / BC
candidates under Govt. of India Post Matric
Scholarship scheme

institute organised the following activities:

• Singing, poetry performance at Tilyar Lake
hosted by Haryana Tourism

National Conference on Managing Sustainable

• This conference by all staff & students of
SIHM, which proved to be very successful in

• 7thNovember 2012
• This competition was hosted by Institute of
Hotel Management, Kurukshetra
• Students of SIHM participated & won prizes in
the following categories:

• Table decoration
20. HUNNAR SE ROZGAR
• 15th
December 2012 onwards
• The 1st
batch consisted of 34 students in Food Production, out
of which 100% training was organised. The 2nd
batch consists
of 37(maximum number) students.
• This course is for a duration of 8 weeks
• F&B SERVICE: The 1st
batch of consisted of 28 students in F&B
service, out of which 20 students have been placed so far. The
2nd
batch consists of 26 students.
• This course is for a duration of 6 weeks
21. PINJORE HERITAGE FESTIVAL
• 15,16,17th
December 2012
• This festival was organised by Haryana
Tourism in which all state Hotel Management
Institutes participated.
• SIHM, Rohtak participated by putting up a
food staff which was independently managed
by students and earned substantial revenue.
22. SURAJKUND CRAFTS MELA

• This is a yearly crafts Mela organised by
Haryana Tourism in which student & staff
participation was there
• Students were incharge of V.I.P escorting
duties and ticket checking
