You can persuade an audience
more effectively with design

stories that have
emotional power.

6. Data can give us some great insights. However the speaker
makes us realise that this is futile if you can’t deliver an eye
catching presentation of the data and its insights.
We can consider the presentation to be most effective when
we are able to awaken our thoughts in the minds of our
audience practically and emotionally too.
The graphical representation in which Jer made use of all the
information in the Kepler project and converted it into a
visual treat is very interesting to see.

8. IMPORTANCE OF DESIGN
More and more and more, data is becoming a part
of our everyday lives. We're producing so much
data, we're consuming so much data, but we
haven't really, as a culture thought about that
transition and what it actually means and what
some of the implications are. Design has a really
interesting role of bridging that gap and making
data more human in various ways. It ultimately
comes down to a question of utility.

11. Why and how are these insights relevant to a
manager in India?
The talk emphasises on the fact as to how one can
grab one’s attention by simply making use of beautiful
designs and graphical visualisations making it easier
for the person to comprehend what you wish to
convey.
This insight is very important for a manager who
wishes to influence the audience to gain success in the
business.
