One of our pet projects. We will be starting the same very shortly.

1. THAI THANTHAI GLOBAL MODEL VILLAGE PROJECT
Thai Thanthai Global Model Village is a pet project of Thai Thanthai Welfare Trust. This project
is a project for ensuring a better life for those in villages across Tamil Nadu, which do not have
proper facilities and have to move to towns to get their daily needs. The villages that we have
targeted are those which do not have access to any close by cities and which are not having the
facilities to survive in the village without proper facilities like drinking water, proper schools,
roads, electricity, bathroom facilities, hospitals, buses, roads etc. There are approximately about
300 such villages, that we have visited, and we plan to make them a GLOBAL MODEL
VILLAGE, which will ensure that the village is self-sustained and not facing any difficulties in
their place.
MAJOR POINTS OF THE PROJECT:
 The project is aimed at Villages with a minimum of 100 families.
 The village which has no access to cities or towns (a minimum distance of 3-10 Kms)
 Villages that do not have potable drinking water facilities
 Villages that do not have toilet facilities.
 Villages that are not connected to towns or cities via public transport.
 Villages that do not have proper electricity.
 Villages that do not have proper facilities to help the people in their lively hood.
 Villages that do not have a basic healthcare unit to cater to the villagers.
 Villages that do not have proper schools for the education of the children.
 Villages that do not have proper livestock maintenance facilities.
 Villages without proper banking facilities.

2. OUR PLAN OF ACTION:
 The plan of action for the model global village is to ensure that all facilities that are
needed are provided free of cost to the selected villages,
 Reconstruction of houses or huts that are damaged
 Building roadways to the village and the nearest towns or cities
 Providing public transportation facilities.
 Providing water tanks in every street covering the whole village- minimum capacity to be
50,000 litres, which are then piped to the houses.
 Providing toilets to the villagers, who do not have it.
 Providing facilities for farmers, for irrigation purpose and agricultural growth, (manure,
seeds, fertilizers, purchase of products, selling of the same etc)
 Banking facilities to help the farmers and other vocational talented villagers.
 Providing electricity facilities (main plan is to have solar energy panels for harnessing the
sun power, windmills where feasible), lighting for streets, homes and other facilities
using the solar panels and the wind power generated electricity.
 Providing schooling facilities for the children of the villages, with free healthy food apart
from education.
 Rain water harvesting for ensuring that the rain water is used for the irrigation and other
purposes.
 Creating artificial ponds where feasible and also training the farmers who might be
interested in pisciculture.
 Introduction of new methods of cultivation to improve the production of crops by trained
people.
 Providing them 24/7 health facility close by so as to take care of their health.
 For all this we would require a minimum of 5000 crores. ( the cost includes providing all
the facilities in the 300 villages shortlisted for the same.

3. CONSTRUCTIONTO BE DONE:

TOILETS (WHERE NECESSARY)
SCHOOLS
COMMUNITY KITCHEN/HALL

WINDMILLS (WHERE FEASIBLE)
SOLAR PANELS ( FOR ELECTRICITY GENERATION)
The total costs for the above for the above 300 shortlisted villages would cost approximately
5000 crores. The main factor is that these facilities are going to be constructed with utmost
care and are to be dedicated to the people of the village without any cost.

4. We at THAI THANTHAI WELFARE TRUST would like to start the project at the earliest and
ensure that the villages who are being looked into are happy for the rest of their lives.
We would like to be transparent with the expenses and all details will be available for
anyone to view.
We therefore require the assistance for completing the project successfully.
