Brooke Humlicek & Margaret Otto had the unique opportunity to

Fiscal Accountability Rating
• FISD received a rating of “Superior
Achievement” under Texas’ School FIRST
financial accountability rating system. The
rating system measures the quality of a school
district’s financial management and reporting.
The Superior Achievement rating is the state’s
highest, demonstrating the quality of FISD’s
financial management and reporting system.

Five Friendswood High School seniors have been named Merit finalists in the
2015 National Merit Scholarship competition. They include Molly M. Chen,
Thomas J. Chenette, Hannah Hall, Julia J. Lu, and Stephanie A. Ngo.

13. National Hispanic Recognition
Four Friendswood High School seniors have been named 2014-2015 National
Hispanic Recognition Program Scholars. These include Andrew Adcox, Anne
Balderrama, Bishop Lopez, and Robert Todd.

Ford Expedition for their usage
The Legends of Friendswood non-profit group known for its annual golf tournament honoring the
memory of MIke Doiron donated $10,000 to Friendswood ISD to purchase a white Ford Expedition for
the district's Special Ed Transition Center.

at 6A Contest in San Antonio
• FHS is 14th out of 245 State HS Bands.

• In the past 12 years under Greg Dick’s direction, FHS
has placed more students in the All-State Band than
any other school in our music region.
• FHS's 10 6A All-State band musicians number the
3rd highest of any 6A high school in Texas.

• Sarah Redding, nominated by her coach, is one of 8 students in the
Greater Houston Metroplex to receive $5000 for outstanding academics,
community service, and athletic skills. This is our first time to receive this.

Thanksgiving Parade
The Friendswood High School Wranglerettes enjoyed a bit of the national spotlight as they spent
their holiday performing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They also appeared on the
NYC Today Show.

•Clear Lake Symphony Senior Concerto Competition playing
Fantasia by Claude T. Smith. He will perform Fantasia on
March 27, 2015, with the Clear Lake Symphony.
•First place in the American Protege International Brass and
Winds competition. He was one of four that received Judges’
Distinction. He will perform in a recital at Carnegie Hall in New
York City on March 21, 2015.
•Made All-State Band three times consecutively.

Friendswood High School Cheerleaders were presented with an award from Annie Stafford of The Susan G. Komen Race. They
were the largest high school fundraising team and the largest participating high school walking team. Additionally, Tania Cruz
of Susan G. Komen presented them with an award as one of the largest overall fundraising teams for 2015.
