Classquest is a tool for creating and managing gamified classes. It allows teachers to create classes with their unique rules, levels, achievements, missions and rewards. Students can see this information and their progress in their own app.

5. USING CLASSQUEST
Create your class clicking on “Add Class”
• Once the class is created you can:
• Create Students
• Open Registration for students to sign up
to your class
• Configure a Levelling system for this class
• Create Rules for this class
• Add rewards to this class’ Rewards Shop
• Create Missions (only if you already have
students)
• Create Teams (only if you already have
students)
«The Learning Games» recommends giving some thought to your
gamified system before implementing it in Classquest.
6. ADD STUDENTS
Students can be added to your class in two different ways
1. If they already have their own Classquest account
a) Open Registration in your class configuration
b) Give them the class’ Hashcode (Classroom’s Haschcode in
the configuration menu up right) so they can join the class
2. If they don’t have an account
a) Ask them to create one Go to step 1
b) Create the students yourself: Click on Add Student. Then you
can:
a) Give them the details of the account
b) Give their parents the details of the account (
c) Keep it to yourself (not recommended but possible)
7. LEVELS
You may want to set up a levelling (or guild, or ranks)system.
Give it a name/title (usually
depending on your gamification
narrative)
Rank number in the system
Points needed to achieve this level
For example: students start at
Beginner and promote to Novice
when they get to 100 points, to
Intermediate when they get to 250
and to Professional when they get
to 500.
8. RULES
Rules are the behaviours or elements you want to encourage or
keep track of in your class, like punctuality, teamwork, creativity or
even test scores. Your class, your rules ;)
Give it a Name (you can also use cute smilies
from your keyboard).
Write a Description so your students know what
is expected of them.
Max score is, well, how many points they can get
in this category.
Score is the default score for this rule (can be
changed when actually giving the points).
Use it for levelling up (or not). For example,
maybe you want to promote a behaviour for a
short period but you don’t think it should be used
to promote from Page to Knight.
9. RULES: ACHIEVEMENTS
You can also set up achievements related to a rule (or not, you
decide).
Give a (cool) Name so the students feel proud of
having achieved it.
A good ol’ Description helps your students know how
to get it.
Requirements is the number of points needed to
unlock the achievement.
Max level is, well, just that.
You can select a badge from the catalogue or upload
your own image.
For example, 50 points on creativity unlock Creative
Genius achievement. If Max Level is different from 1,
a new Creative Genius level is unlocked every 50
points up to the Max Level you have set.
10. ACTIONS WITH STUDENTS
You have Students. You have Rules. Let’s now combine them both.
• You can take attendance for the day. This will hide the absent
students (so no points for them today).
• Evaluate Students: Select the students Select the rule to be
evaluated Select the points (use default or change at your own
convenience) Click Select All selected students will be
awarded the selected number of points in the selected items
• Send Message: you can send a message to the selected students.
They will see it when they open the app.
• Random Student: picks a random name from the class
11. TEAMS
You can create Teams both by selecting students or letting
Classquest randomly select them.
• Create Random Teams: click and select the number of teams you want to
create. They will be called «Random #».
• Add Team: Optionally select an image for the team. Give it a Name.
Write the Objective for creating Team: for example, Project Universe or
Whole Year Cooperative Work (something that helps you remember what
is the purpose of the team). Select the members of the Team.
You can Evaluate Teams (same as in
Evaluate Students, but for the team
members).
You can also Send Message to the team
and pick a Random Team.
12. REWARDS SHOP
You can easily create Rewards that Students can
buy with their points. They can be real life rewards
(like a sneaky peak to their notes during an exam)
or in-system rewards (like a healing potion they
can use in the narrative of your class). You decide
(doesn’t it start to feel like a pattern?).
Go to Rewards Shop on the top right menu and
click on Add Reward: Give the reward a name, a
description (so they know what they are getting)
and set a price.
13. MISSIONS
Missions are a combination of different
behaviours or activities defined within Classquest to
be completed by a student or a tema by a certain
date and has an associated Reward and optional
completion points.
Creating a Mission is easy, just use the wizard to
walk you through. (Tip: Items and Rewards must
exist before you create a Mission)
14. CONFIGURATION
Show Images: switch between images and avatars.
Notifications: enable or disable notifications
Registration: enable registration in your class.
When it’s disabled, students won’t be able to join
your class.

unique code to give to your students to register.

15. FINAL WORDS
Classquest is just a tool to help you implement your vision of a
gamified class. From teacher to teacher, we have tried to give it as
much flexibility as possible, as we know every class and group is a
unique universe. Feel free to explore it and use it as explained or in
creative ways we couldn’t have even imagined.
We’d love to hear about your experiences with Classquest in your
classes. Contact us and let us know! We’ll be really happy!
