1. Tell me in no more than20 words, what is your
FMP idea?
Satirical documentary/Mockumentary inwhich I
interview somethingunusual(alien?).
Why have youdecided to makeit? I’vechosen a documentary becauseI find
documentary’sinteresting, andI like it when
they’renot formal as there’sroom for lighter
moments. Also, I want tofamiliarise myself with
the visualside of media like using a camera and a
tripodas I have little tono experience in that field.
What aboutyourproject makesit important to
you?
This project is importanttome because I want to
work with cameras, andthis is a goodchance to
learn and get comfortable with them. Also, it’s a
chance to do somethingwith complete creative
control which I’venever done before.
Outline someof the initial influences onyour
idea/work and somepotential research targets
(remember, research isn’t justa paper-based
activity)
The main influence of my work would be Louis
Theroux as I admire hisinterviewing styleand the
typeof people who he interviews. LouisTheroux,
putshimself into dangeroussituationsandyet still
makessarcastic commentsand keepsthe
documentary frombeing depressing.
What effect do youwant to haveon your
audience when they see yourproject?
I want my productto be accurate tohow
interviewers conduct themselvesandthe
questionsthey ask but I alsowant it to be ona
topic that’sfunny. So, I would want the audience
to see the commoningredients of documentary’s
thatI’ve replicated while finding the topic funny.
Describe the tone/mood/styleofyourproject
[which productiontechniques/characteristicsare
youemploying?]
The productwould feel professional as I would be
getting interesting shotsof the area and I’dask
the questionsseriously, butit’dbe in a strange
situation.
Why have youdecided to makeyour project in
this style?
I’vechosen thisstyle because I watch lots of
documentaries, butI think with my lack of
experience I couldn’thandlea hard-hittingtopic.
So, I chose a less serious way of doinga
documentary thatcan still be good.
