Position Purpose
In this role I was responsible for providing a quality tenure management service for all Queensland tenures by
undertaking activities necessary to ensure Queensland tenure compliance and contributing to the formulation of
strategies to ensure retention of tenure and access to land.
Key Accountabilities

 Set goals through performance and development discussions and deliver on agreed plans.

Job Accountabilities
 Interpret and apply key petroleum legislation as it relates to tenure management in Queensland.
 Prepare statutory forms for lodgement with Government agencies including preparation and
co-ordination of accompanying documentation.
 Co-ordinate all key stakeholders to provide input and information to be supplied with all the
accompanying documentation to the statutory forms (including technical material both environmental and
geological).
 Record and monitor the progress of all applications and requests lodged with Government agencies
(including co-ordinating native title and environmental processes).
 Prepare, submit and monitor on a timely basis, all Government reporting requirements for Qld and NSW
tenures.
 Accurately monitor permit expenditures and work programs to ensure compliance with commitments.
 Lodgement and payment of annual returns, rates and fees.
 Action correspondence from and prepare correspondence to Government agencies on a regular basis.
 Action correspondence from and prepare correspondence to Joint Venture parties as required.
 Prepare correspondence to other relevant key stakeholders as required.
 Maintain and regularly update the firm database.
 Establish a working relationship and meet regularly with Government agencies.
 Provide internal tenure advice and assistance.
 Assist internal staff with tenure issues and projects as requested and undertake other duties as required
by supervisor.

My roles at Carter Newell encompassed two positions in my time of service. One of these roles was a Legal
Secretary which I was required to have the necessary skills to perform this role efficiently and confidently for a
period of six years and to provide vital support to the legal staff and contribute to the success of the firm. I then held
the position of Lodgement-Property Services Clerk for 14 years.

 Produces information by inputting, editing, retrieving, copying and transmitting a high volume of data.

attend to the preparation of statutory legislation forms. Attend to lodgement of documents with various Government
agencies as requested by all areas of expertise within the company. I was also the key responsible person to
conduct in-house stamp duty payment obligations.
Key Accountabilities Lodgement/Property Services Clerk
 Prepare statutory forms pertaining to Department of Natural Resources & Mines, Office of State Revenue
internal stamping forms and Australian Securities Commission statutory forms.
 Arrange and conduct lodgement of documents at Titles Office; Office of State Revenue & Australian
Securities Commission.
 Rectify and attend to any requisitions received from the Department of Natural Resources & Mines; Office
of State Revenue and Australian Securities Commission.
 Attend and arrange any Lodging in Conjunctions at Department of Natural Resources & Mines with external
parties and land owners.
 Action payment of fees and billing requirements to cover government duty fees.
 Action any Customer Service enquiries in regards to lodgement and preparation of documents
 Action any internal enquires in regards to search options and lodgement and preparation of documents.
Due Diligence
 Conduct due diligence searches requested for property/commercial/litigation matters. This includes
conducting searches Australia wide with various Government agencies and Courts/Tribunals.
 Action conveyance reports for matters by detailing results obtained and follow up on all searches to
ensure that due diligence obligations are met.
 Update Due Diligence search folders as searches are completed and advise supervisor of any issues
that arise from searches conducted. Once completed attend to drafting of Due Diligence report and
results of completed searches.
Clerical duties
 Action and prepare correspondence to send to clients, solicitors, banks for property files that are required
for the advancement of matter.
 Maintain bring ups and dates of importance on conveyance files to ensure that conveyancing protocol is
met.
 Assisting in internal Solicitors with settlement procedures and attend property settlements.
 When conveyance file has settled action final letter and bill to client and proceed to archive matter.
