Royalty cost is currently published to EDW through WebADI which incorporates GL JV and AE
upload at the same time. Although product data is available at the RCE at PID level, AE only
pushes the data at PF level, all PIDs are defaulted to adjustment PIDs built for each PF. Such
adjustment PIDs are not used in any actual orders. Therefore, management reporting/ analytics
derived from EDW for royalty cannot be done at the PID level.
As AE currently cannot allocate data to PID level, revenue adjustments related to royalty
calculation cannot be done. And revenue adjustments tend to be contra-revenue in nature, such
limitation may result in overstatement in royalty calculation strictly based on invoices for those
contracts which incorporate rebates and revenue adjustments.
Enable RCE direct linkage to EDW for exporting royalty cost to EDW without going through
Allocation Engine for majority (if not all) of the value. Allocation Engine (AE) enhancement to push
allocation of revenue adjustments & certain royalty cost down to PID level.

The objective for this project is to develop a new tool called ‘Estimate’. Shutterfly ’s “Commercial
Print” division will use this new “SBS Estimation Tool” to create the estimates, present it to the
customers, and upon approval convert it to Jobs for the purpose of manufacturing.
The new tool ‘Estimate’ being built will leverage the Oracle platform with the user interface being
built on ADF framework.
The high-level scope of the tool built covers, ADF Screens to capture all the user enterable data in
a UI Screens with some basic validation of the data entered by the users. Along with this screens
‘Estimate’ will contain the following components:
• Create and Search ‘Estimate’ capabilities
• Master Org, BU and Program creation UI
• Product and Pricing determined/calculated offline by the Sales/Client Services user and
manually entered on the form. The form had the capability to capture all attributes of the product as
well as the pricing (Production, Data Services, Client Services, Procurement Buy Out, Activities
information). The intent is to replicate existing functionality of “Custom” product where all attributes
will be present and the user can pick and choose which attributes they want to be include for that
Product.
• Procurement Buy-out- The procurement/Sales user had the capability to enter the Price
(Cost + Mark-up %) on the estimate. No systematic integration of the tool to the procurement user.
