Condensation
water that collects on a cool surface
because the temperature of the surface
is below the point at which moisture in
the air forms as water droplets.

Condensate on glass of water
3E Venkata Raju - Building Manager
Condensate water from AHU
4E Venkata Raju - Building Manager
Quantity of condensate depends on
1. Temp of chilled water @ inlet to AHU
2. Percentage of RH in fresh air
3. Percentage of RH in return air
4. Capacity of AHUs
5. Volume of chilled flow
6. Volume of air flow
In Hyderabad , More RH during monsoons (70 to
85%), in summer 50 to 70% and in winter 25 to
50%.

Approximate Condensate quantity
@B7
• Based on our intermittent collection sample
reports at individual AHUs , floor AHUs ,
south wing AHUs and north wing AHUs in the
last 3 to 4 months , it is approximately 10 to
12 KL per day ( when 37 AHUs running).
• Assumed 15 to 18KL per day (When 62 AHUs
running)
E Venkata Raju - Building Manager 6
Quality of condensate water @B7
1.Hardness  0 to 2 ppm
2. TTDs  30 to 40 ppm
3. PH  6 to 7
4. Clear water
5. Temp 15 to 20 deg.C
E Venkata Raju - Building Manager 7
Usage of collected condensate water
1.As drinking water
2.As domestic water
3.As CT water
E Venkata Raju - Building Manager 8
For Drinking- Scheme
• Approximate cost : RS 2.50 lacs
• Savings/Earnings : 6000 (Ltrs) x 20 (days) x Rs.1.00
(per ltr)x 12(months) = 14.40 lacs /year
• Note :Every high purity of raw water , output is 80 to90% .

For CT water- Scheme
• Approximate cost : Rs 15000/-
• Savings : No chemicals required , no scale formation , no
bleed off , less power consumption in chillers :
Approximately Rs 75 to 80 lacs per year.

Cost estimation
• 1. As per quote by Hiline : Rs 1.5 lacs
• 2. As per our estimate and as per standard
design : Rs 75,000/-
• 3. As per present available material : Rs
25000/- (May not be as per standard , but it is
good and suitable for our requirement)
