Condensation occurs when moisture in the air condenses into water droplets on a cool surface whose temperature is below the dew point. The quantity of condensate depends on factors like the temperature of chilled water entering air handling units, relative humidity of fresh and return air, air handling unit capacity and airflow volume. In Hyderabad, relative humidity ranges from 70-85% during monsoons, 50-70% in summer, and 25-50% in winter. At one building (B7), approximately 10-12 kiloliters of condensate is collected daily when 37 air handlers are running, and an estimated 15-18 kiloliters when all 62 are operating. This condensate water can be treated
1. Condensation
water that collects on a cool surface
because the temperature of the surface
is below the point at which moisture in
the air forms as water droplets.

5. Quantity of condensate depends on
1. Temp of chilled water @ inlet to AHU
2. Percentage of RH in fresh air
3. Percentage of RH in return air
4. Capacity of AHUs
5. Volume of chilled flow
6. Volume of air flow
In Hyderabad , More RH during monsoons (70 to
85%), in summer 50 to 70% and in winter 25 to
50%.

6. Approximate Condensate quantity
@B7
• Based on our intermittent collection sample
reports at individual AHUs , floor AHUs ,
south wing AHUs and north wing AHUs in the
last 3 to 4 months , it is approximately 10 to
12 KL per day ( when 37 AHUs running).
• Assumed 15 to 18KL per day (When 62 AHUs
running)

9. For Drinking- Scheme
• Approximate cost : RS 2.50 lacs
• Savings/Earnings : 6000 (Ltrs) x 20 (days) x Rs.1.00
(per ltr)x 12(months) = 14.40 lacs /year
• Note :Every high purity of raw water , output is 80 to90% .
