Year 6 SATs workshop.
The National Curriculum tests
Schools are required to administer the following tests:
English reading
Spelling, punctuation and grammar
Mathematics
There will not be an English writing test. Writing will be assessed
by the school.

 Mrs Bains’ Class to remain in the hall for the

 Mrs Dobson’s Class to split for the Numeracy
workshop

~ Mr Hamilton Martin’s Maths sets in the I.T.
suite
~Miss Paul’s maths group in her classroom
 We shall swap over after 15 minutes.
Let’s have a look at the types of
questions in the SPAG test
 SPAG test 12 (M)
 Have a go at it in pairs.
 Here are the answers…
1. Semi-colon(;) at the ends of the first
two bullet and a full stop at the end of
the last one. Or full stops
2. To do:
3. There’s a packet of biscuits that has
been opened.
Informal – There’s stuff in the fridge
4. Complex sentence e.g Our writing is
getting better because we have been
doing grammar exercises in order to
improve
5. In the tin; on the shelf; b the cupboard
6. Ought
7. Prefixes e.g unhappy, undo, unclear
etc
8. Book as a verb (You are booked) Book
as a noun (read the book)

 We will be setting homework from these
books regularly.
