into the hire’s employment.

You want your employee to be able to
get to work as soon as they start (even if
they won’t be doing anything major on
that first day).
Put in an order with IT a week or
so in advance.
On day one, come in a bit early to make
sure everything is set up and looking nice.

Put together some
swag to have waiting
on your new hire’s first
day.
It might seem trivial, but things like
mugs, notepads, pens, or free
samples, can really get them
excited.

Be sure that you are free to greet
your new hire the moment they
arrive.
If you’re concerned about a 9 a.m. start,
have them come in a bit later to ensure
you’re there.
Be sure to show them where all the
office basics are.

 #4: Send out an introductory email
Send out a company-wide announcement about the
new arrival. Include a photo, a bio with past
experience, and details on what they will be doing.
Make sure you include where they’re sitting to
encourage team members to drop by and say hello.

to introduce your new hire to the team.
Take them around to meet
key members of their department,
and upper management.

5 things you need to do for your new hire's first day
