Dear Kristin,
The 2009 Youth Venture Summit held June 26-29 in Boston, Massachusetts brought together over 130 Venturers,
Allies and Community Leaders from 10 different countries. Over the course of the four-day Summit, participants had the
opportunity to learn from fellow Venturers in workshops, collaborate with others during open-space meetings, develop
lasting friendships and memories and continue to build a global network of changemakers.

Meet an Ashoka Fellow
Highlighting Social Entrepreneurs
Those who attended the 2009 Youth Venture Summit may recognize this social entrepreneur!
Anil Chitrakar
As the founder of Environmental Camps for Conservation Awareness
(ECCA) in Nepal, Anil developed a series of environmental camps to
mobilize Nepal's youth to fundamentally change the way the Nepalese
interact with their surrounding environment.
Anil also campaigned for seven years to successfully change Nepal's
investment strategy in hydropower as a member of the Alliance for
Energy.
