Back for 2012, Glyndŵr University’s Annual Virtual Enterprise Conference will host
speakers with inspirational web business success stories.
The UK wide event, held from Wednesday 22nd – Thursday 23rd of Feb 2012, will
focus on the opportunities available for students, businesses and entrepreneurs to
develop products and services online.
Day 1: (Held in the Nick Whitehead Lecture Theatre):
Jessica Ratcliffe - CEO & Founder of GaBoom the UK’s first video game
trading website.
Josh Liu - founder of MinuteBox.com a portal which allows experts to charge
micro sums for their advice.
Simon Grice - serial internet entrepreneur and founder of Belocal a website
connecting local people, services and events.
Day 2 (Held online in Second Life):
Dr David Bozward - serial entrepreneur and specialist in mobile
communications.
John Ulotti - web designer and local entrepreneur.
John Lester - an expert in virtual words and technologies.
Joel Gascoigne - founder of Buffer and One Page.

2. House Keeping
Day 1 of the conference will be held in the Nick Whitehead Lecture Theatre in the
main building (Foyer) of the University’s Plas Coch Campus.
Rrefreshments will be provided during breaks in the main foyer.
Lunch will be provided in Restaurant 1887, ‘A’ Corridor.
Visitor Wi-Fi passwords can be obtained from main reception.
Toilets can be found on the ground floor to the right and left of the main
reception desk.
We are not expecting a fire alarm, should one sound please make your way
into the car park following a member of CfEL staff.
Your first aider for the day is Matthew Draycott.
Day 2 of the conference will be held in Enterprise Central in Second Life – limited
access available in L201 in the Edward Llwyd Building on campus

presents for students, entrepreneurs and academics to develop themselves and their
careers.

5. Second Life
For those people attending Day Two of the conference in Second Life you will be
visiting our Island; Enterprise Central:

To get started with second life you will need to:
1. Navigate to http://secondlife.com/
2. Click: Join Now
3. Choose an Avatar
4. Select a unique Username
5. Complete your details in the following section
6. You will then receive an Activation Email, click the link contained in the email
7. Download and Install the Second Life Viewer, following all instructions
8. Start the viewer and Login to Second Life
9. Copy and paste the SLURL into the navigation bar in the Second Life Viewer
10. Meet us in Second Life and enjoy the day!
