Getting Information:
 Social Networking Sites (Facebook, My Space, etc.)
 Talk to people from your place.
 Talk to experts.

Getting Pictures:
 Google Earth (earth.google.com/)
 Include pictures (past and present)
 Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/)
 Include local inhabitants pictures
