The Institute presented the Gold Medal Award to Her Majesty
Queen Sirikit of Thailand in recognition of Her Majesty’s
outstanding leadership in environmental protection and the
conservation of natural resources.

AIT Center Vietnam
was inaugurated,
becoming the first
international institute
of higher learning to
operate in the
country. AITCV
launched a diploma
program in Industrial
Systems
Engineering.

AIT received the
Asian Management
Award for
Development
Management from
the Asian Institute
of Management in
Manila, for its
contributions to
human resources
development and
sustainable
development in the
region.

A partnership established the joint Chulabhorn
Research Institute / AIT program in Environmental
Toxicology,Technology and Management.

AIT received a citation
from the Danube Adria
Association for
Automation and
Manufacturing
International Vienna,
for its contributions to
the technical sciences

scientific cooperation.

HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn
presided over the inauguration of the Asian
Center for Research on Remote Sensing.

AIT celebrated its 40th
Anniversary with annual
enrolment averaging 1,349
students and the alumni
body consisting of some
9,828 members from 57
countries.

H.E. Dr. Leonel Fernandez,
President of the Dominican
Republic, visited AIT. He was
welcomed by Prof. Jean-Louis
Armand and H.E. Dr. Arthit
Ourairat, Minister of Science,
Technology and Environment
of Thailand.
