2. ABSTRACT
Button operated gear shifting mechanism consists of linear
actuator for sliding operation, Polarity changer, Gear shifting
mechanism etc.
The gear shifting operation is done through button operation.
A manual transmission, also known as a manual gearbox, stick
shift, n-speed manual (where n is its number of forward gear
ratios), standard, MT, or in colloquial U.S. English, a stick (for
vehicles with hand-lever shifters), is a type of transmission used in
motor vehicle applications.
It uses a driver-operated clutch engaged and disengaged by a foot
pedal (automobile) or hand lever (motorcycle), for regulating
3. It uses a driver-operated clutch engaged and disengaged by a foot
pedal (automobile) or hand lever (motorcycle), for regulating
torque transfer from the engine to the transmission; and a gear
selector operated by hand (automobile) or by foot (motorcycle).
4. INTRODUCTION
With the advent of automated gear transmission system ease of
access to vehicles has increased over last 20 years. Generally in 2
wheelers, gear is shifted manually with the help of lever but this
technique is not suitable for handicapped people and also non
handicapped people can get a maximum comfort level while
riding.
So we are in a process of making it more friendly and convenient
to use. This can be achieved using motors and some modification
in lever shaft.
5. Nowadays, a manual transmission or sequential type is a type of
transmission used on motorcycles and Two Wheelers, where gears
are selected in order, and direct access to specific gears is not
possible.
With traditional manual transmissions, the driver can move from
gear to gear, by moving the shifter to the appropriate position. A
clutch must be disengaged before the new gear is selected, to
disengage the running engine from the transmission, thus stopping
all torque transfer. During manual transmission, shifting between
gears in order to match acceleration and deceleration needs, drivers
have to learn how to use a clutch, when to shift, and the proper
timing required for operating a manual transmission effectively.
6. Head light members thereon connectable to a frame portion of the
vehicle, linkage means interconnecting the brackets for conjoint
movement thereof, and means interconnecting one of the brackets to the
connector rod of the vehicle whereupon the brackets and headlight
members are moved in relation to the direction of vehicle travel.
Still, more specifically, this device relates to a headlight arrangement
operably connected to the steering and front wheel assembly of an
automobile operable to maintain headlight members and front wheels
pointed in the same direction at all times.
7. LITERATURE SURVEY
Ram Bansal et al [2017] In this project, we aim at developing
easy gear shifting mechanism for transmission which will make
motor bike rider’s gear shifting very easy. Everyone desires for the
smooth running of the vehicle whatsoever may be the speed of
pickup of the vehicle a person is operating, but one of the most
important system which every engineer is concerned about in vehicle
is gear shifting system for ensuring smooth and desired ride on their
two wheelers. Some simple mechanism is arranged with the servo
motor and solenoid plunger which will help us to change the gear as
per the desired torque.
8. Pawan R. Gurav et al [2017] The main objective of this paper is
used to bring automation in gear shifter of two wheelers using
stepper motor. This is the new innovative model mainly used for the
vehicles to control the vehicle. Here we are concentrating to design
the automatic gear changing mechanism in two wheeler vehicles by
using the components like gear box, stepper motor, battery, electronic
switch etc. This is very useful and unique method for the gear
changing mechanism in two wheeler vehicles. By using this we can
easily control the bike through button which will give instruction to
stepper motor through programming we going to achieve to control
motion i.e. Clockwise or anticlockwise by some specific angle.
9. A. A. Jadhav et al [2017] Gear shifting mechanism plays an
important role in conservation of fuel and energy. This all can be
achieved by pneumatic button operated gear shifting mechanism.
This study is focussed on pneumatic system and its design for gear
shifting mechanism. There are different methods of button operated
gear shifting mechanism but study compares the methods that are
used in pneumatic button operated gear shifting which is operated by
pneumatic system in which air as working fluid and another one is
electro-magnetic button operated gear shifting which works on the
principle of electro-magnet. In this way these two systems will help
us to change the gear as per desired speed with minimum efforts and
reduces time delays.

11. ADVANTAGES
Seamless shift gearboxes.
The driver is not required to manually operate the clutch.
The driver is not required to lift off the accelerator when
changing up through the gears.
The driver suffers from no loss of drive.
Fuel efficient.
Simple driving control.
Less fatigue to driver.
Noiseless gear shifting.
