2. How we came on This Idea
Our group was always more inquisitive
about security purpose projects. We
decided that our project will be security
we also wanted to make something
unique, something that is not unique in
the market and for a social cause.So, we
came up with this idea of Women
3. What is an Android application
Android is a mobile operating system (OS) based on
the Linux kernel and currently developed by Google.
With a user interface based on direct manipulation,
Android is designed primarily for touchscreen mobile
devices such as smartphones and tablet computers, with
specialized user interfaces for televisions (Android TV),
cars (Android Auto), and wrist watches (Android Wear).
The OS uses touch inputs that loosely correspond to
real-world actions, like swiping, tapping, pinching, and
reverse pinching to manipulate on-screen objects, and
a virtual keyboard. Despite being primarily designed for
touchscreen input, it also has been used in game
consoles, digital cameras, and other electronics.
4. Android is the most popular mobile OS. As of 2013,
Android devices sell more than Windows, iOS,
and Mac OS devices combined,with sales in 2012,
2013 and 2014 close to the installed base of all
PCs. As of July 2013 the Google Playstore has had
over 1 million Android apps published, and over 50
billion apps downloaded.
A developer survey conducted in April–May 2013
found that 71% of mobile developers develop
for Android. At Google I/O 2014, the company
revealed that there were over 1 billion active monthly
Android users (that have been active for 30 days), up
from 538 million in June 2013.
Here we introduces an app which ensures
the safety of women.This helps to identify
and call on resources to help the one out of
dangerous situations.This reduce risk and
bring assistance when we need it and help
us to identify the location of the one in

8. 1) At first user have to save some details.These
details include:Email address and password of
Email address and mobile number of the
recipient and a Text Message.
2) Then initialize this app as a "widget" ,so that a
finger touch is enough to alert your recipient
3) It will also record voice around surroundings
for 45 seconds and then send these record and
a text message to the recipient number.
This message also includes the current position
(latitude and longitude) of the victim.

A little about Women's Security and working of this
Women are adept at mobilizing diverse groups for a
common cause. They often work across ethnic,
religious, political, and cultural divides to promote
peace.We are all aware of importance of women's
safety , but we must realize that they should be
properly protected.Women's are not as physically
strong as men, in an emergency situation a helping
hand would be a relief for them.
10. The best way to minimize your chances of becoming
a victim of violent crime (robbery, rape, domestic
violence) is to identify and call on resources to help
you out of dangerous situations.
Whether you're in immediate trouble or get
separated from friends during a night out and don't
know how to get home, having these apps on your
phone can reduce your risk and bring assistance
when you need it.
In the light of recent outrage in Delhi which shook
the nation and woke us to the safety issues for our
daughters, people are gearing up in different ways to
fight back.A host of new apps have been developed to
provide security systems to women on their phones.
Our app is one of them.
11. Project Overview
The basic aim of the system is to develop a low cost
solution for GPS based women tracking system(women
safety system) which can applied to various domains
of the industrial and personal use just by using the
very common mean i.e. mobile with android enabled.
The main objective of the system is to track the current
location of the person which has an android enabled
mobile by extracting the longitude and latitude of that

12. PROPOSED SYSTEM
A wide range of tracking systems has been developed so
far tracking vehicles and displaying their position on a
map, but none of the applications has been developed so
far which tracks the mobility of a human being. Now a
day's tracking a person's mobility has became a crucial
issue these days be it tracking a criminal came on payroll
or a system which is cost effective and can be used for
tracking a human being using a GPS and GPRS equipped
mobile phone rather than using a handheld GPS receiver.
The main focus of our project is to reduce the overall cost
of tracking based on GPS system which is a satellite based
service which is available 24X7 everywhere in the whole
world. GPS system can be used to get location which
includes details like latitude, longitude and altitude values
along with the timestamp details etc
13. It a free of cost service available to every individual.
In order to track the movement of the person we
have used Google Maps for mapping the location
sent by the mobile phone. The mobile phone which
fetches the GPS location communicates with the
server using General Packet Radio Service (GPRS).
This service is a low cost service provided by the
service providers which is a wireless data
communication system. Mobile phones equipped
with GPS receiver are easily available in the market
these days and is a booming technology these days.
This cell phone technology has enabled us to
communicate almost every part of the world across
the boundaries. The GSM/GPRS is one of the best
and cheapest modes of communication present
these days and in future
The proposed system in this paper
works in two phases: tracking phase
and mapping phase .In the tracking
phase the mobile device's application
developed in Android using the mobile
phone GPS receiver fetches the GPS
location, after calculating the exact
location it further creates a GPRS
packet which includes the along with
the location details a unique identifier .
16. Since we are implementing the
system with the help of mobile it
will eliminate the use of GPS and
GSM modems which are costly
devices. This system uses an android
operating system for tracking
eliminating the need of SMS
creation and sending.
Thus we are using PHP and My SQL
as front end and back end.
17. Working of our Project
First of all we have to install our
application in android phones.
We have to give unique id and password
to each android user. So using this id we
can easily track the person.
Whenever we want to track android user
we have to enter user id and password.
Hence, we’ve learnt how to
implement Java and mySQL .
