According to a technology article by Linda Starr (2009), Education World Tech Team, www.EducationWorld.com, Patrick Greene, professor of education at Florida Gulf Coast University, states, “Providing opportunities for staff development is an important part of the administrator's role…”. In addition, it is important that administrators “model the routine, intentional, and effective use of technology” (The Collaborative for Technology Standards for School Administrators, 2001, p.6). If administrators provide professional development opportunities, but do not exhibit their own understanding and usage of technology, how can they expect their teachers to do the same?
