• Surveys on carbon foot printing helped to know
what the main sources of the carbon emitters
are. The awareness helps to reduce the carbon
emitting resources.

• Water Audit is a qualitative and quantitative analysis of water
consumption to identify means of reducing, reusing and recycling
of water.

• It is counting and listing of number of plants, animals, insects,

specified area i.e. college campus or adopted village.
• The details viz. common name, scientific name, mode of
propagation, season of flowering/breeding, span of life cycle,
role in ecosystem, its identification clues, etc. are recorded
• It allows students to explore the nature and apply the
knowledge. It enhances the understanding of the various levels
of biodiversity and interconnectedness of every species in
ecosystem.
• Students chalk out comprehensive conservation policy and its
implementation plan.
• The villagers/students take pride to conserve the flora and
fauna of their area.

• Gender audit is analysing mainstream public policy (including legislation,
regulations, allocations, taxation and social projects) from the point of view of
their effect on the status of women in a given society.
Important points while preparing Gender audit:
• To find out the areas where gender balance exists
• To find out factors that regulates the gender balance
• To examine the policies of government and local bodies, rules/ actions toward
the needs and interests of both males and females

• It is a first step in identifying opportunities to reduce energy
expense and carbon footprint.
