2. HP’s Solution
 Hewlett-Packard offers a cooling technology
that it says can cut an IT department’s power
costs by up to 40 percent. The system ,called
Dynamic Smart cooling, uses sensors to
regulate the temperature in specific areas of
the datacenter.
 Dynamic Smart Cooling is an intelligent
solution.
 Dynamic Smart Cooling Uses the datacenter’s
air condition system to adapt to changing
workloads with sensors attached to the
computers.
 A fined air cooled heatsink with fan clipped
onto a CPU, with a smaller passive heatsink
without fan in the background

 Improved data center methods can be achieved by improving the data center cooling
configuration ,eliminating considerable amount of energy leaks. It can result in efficient
data center by following leading practices in data center layout and rack and server
arrangement. effective approach include raised floors to improve airflow, moving
cooling systems closer to server to concentrate cold air in the right place, alternating
hot and cool server passageway to improve airflow and using water-based air
conditioning system.
 There are other benefits of increased airflow . It helps keep the air in your data
 Centers/computer clean , cycling out dust ,pollutants , and other impurities .In this way
it can help for one step ahead for green computing.
 Here are several ways you can increase airflow and save money at home and work.
 Unblock and clean vents
 Proper fans must be used
 Install an exhaust fan
 Install an attic fan
 Seal ducts

5. HOT AISLE/COLD AISLE
 Equipment is typically described to draw in air
from the front and then blow the exhaust out
the rear.
 T he cold aisles have perforated floor tiles to
draw cooler air from the raised floor.
 Floor Mounted cooling is placed at the end of
hot aisles, but not parallel to the rows of racks
