2. HOW IT ALL BEGAN
• The campaign began in 2009, when three like-minded
people got together to spread awareness
• Anjana Ghosh – Manager at Texas Instruments & a
practicing environmentalist
• Babita Saxena – Program Lead at Saahas & moved from
an IT background to environmental issues
• Radhica Kanniganti – Environmental Consultant with 15
years experience in various environmental fields

3. LAUNCH OF WASTE MANAGEMENT
PROGRAM – JAN 26, 2009
Followed by an Environment Habba in May 2009

out of 60 households)
started wet waste
composting

The initiative was re-started in October. Early
adopters became street champions.
