7 Social media are media designed to be disseminated through social interaction, created using highly accessible and scalable publishing techniques. Social media supports the human need for social interaction, using Internet- and web-based technologies to transform broadcast media monologues (one to many) into social media dialogues (many to many). It supports the democratization of knowledge and information, transforming people from content consumers into content producers. Businesses also refer to social media as user-generated content (UGC) or consumer-generated media (CGM). A social network is a social structure made of individuals (or organizations) called "nodes," which are tied (connected) by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as friendship, kinship , financial exchange, dislike, sexual relationships , or relationships of beliefs, knowledge or prestige.

7 This architecture diagram summarizes the Clearvale PaaS functionality. At its core are five layers of key technology components: Systems Foundation . Available on a host of elastic cloud infrastructures on a worldwide basis, Clearvale leverages BroadVision’s rich IP and know-how in security, privacy, scalability, HA, systems management at the foundation layer. Portal Framework . These are building blocks for enterprise collaboration and communication, such as workflow and document mgmt, project and task mgmt, search and activity streams. PaaS Solutions : NaaS, EaaS, and FaaS. At a glance, NaaS manages the triangular relationships amongst the workspaces you use, the people you engage, and the content you share in your business social network. EaaS provides additional support for overseeing the cloning/sharing of interdependent networks in an ecosystem. Finally, FaaS takes it all the way, enabling the franchise to operate multiple ecosystems with federated utilities such as global atlas, AppStore, and Business Exchange. Horizontal/Vertical Templates . One can very easily add either horizontal templates/processes such as social enterprise, social CRM, or social commerce for Intranet, Extranet, or Internet use cases, respectively, or vertical ones for ICT, financial, healthcare, retail, and other industry-specific 2.0 use cases. Personalization Dashboards . On top of the stack come two personalization dashboards. The first, called MyStreams, is for every user to track and focus on activity streams across the entire ecosystem using it as both the personal filter and prism. The second, called MySocial, allows one to gain insight into utilization, relationships, and effectiveness of knowledge flows. CV PaaS delivers a full set of Open APIs, which is applied to support multiple touch points such as desktop/laptop PCs and smart terminal devices such as iPhone, iPad, and Android, as well as multiple languages, including 10 of the world’s most popular languages. Also integrated with CV PaaS are some key relationship-based, content-rich network assets, including (1) the Clearvale.com home site supporting viral marketing and invitational join experience; (2) CV Connect for customer support and self-service; (3) Clearvale SecondFloor (or CSF) for E2.0 enthusiasts and participants worldwide to socialize and network with each other for incremental business opportunities generated from the CV ecosystem. Finally, CV PaaS also comes with open adapters such as LDAP, OpenID, CRM, RSS, etc. to integrate Clearvale as the “platform of engagement” with all existing “systems of record”.

Groups allow you to collaborate with other employees via special projects, as well as shared interests/hobbies. Group pages allow for message boards, discussion forums, and file sharing.
An internal UCPA RFP Community was created for internal collaboration across teams in France and Italy. An external UCPA RFP Community was created on the partner network to collaborate with Sedona (our partner). An External UCPA RFP VIP Network was created to deliver the 360 degree view of the company, RFP response and all clarifications.

7 We have also assembled series of consulting services and catalog of both online and on-premise training classes, to be offered to our NaaS/EaaS customers and shared with our FaaS partners. These services cover both strategic planning and tactical execution tracks. On the strategic track, we can help the customer with planning, business value, governance, and adoption issues. On the tactical track, the focuses are on integration with both 1.0 systems of record, and external 2.0 consumer services.
Clearvale the PaaS is offered in three variants — NaaS, EaaS, and FaaS, each of which is available in one or more of the three configurations — public, private, or federated — as shown here. “ Public” is a secure and scalable “multi-tenant” configuration over Clearvale’s default cloud infrastructure, which is available for both NaaS and EaaS. This is the most cost-effective solution for wide spectrum of companies: from large enterprise ecosystems, any small workgroups within large companies, to to SMEs. “ Private” is a secure and scalable “single-tenant” configuration designed for large organizations interested in a dedicated infrastructure. This configuration is available for both EaaS and FaaS solution sets. “ Federated” is a configuration specifically designed for cloud operators who can OEM Clearvale FaaS as part of its more extensive cloud solutions stack. Together, these various cloud clusters form the Clearvale “world”, which under a global directory, can share and connect with each other as the Business Exchange 2.0. More on this later. As an example, here we show the Clearvale world with three main clusters, the Clearvale default cluster on Amazon EC2, the Chinese version of Clearvale, called Mingxigu, on Sina’s cloud, and in Japan on our franchise partner Softbank’s WhiteCloud.
