Clare W Graves 1914 - 1986 As he [or she] sets off on each quest, he believes he will find the answer to his existence, and as he settles into each nodal state he is certain he has found it. Yet, always to his surprise and ever to his dismay he finds, at every stage, that the solution to existence is not the solution he thinks he has found.  Every state he reaches leaves him discontented and perplexed. It is simply that as he solves one set of human problems, he finds a new set in their place.  The quest he finds is never-ending.
It is not a question of growing wiser as you grow older.  This is a thoroughly misguided concept . There are, after all, some very stupid old people.

  1. Four core intelligences identified by Carl Jung; in terms of ways that we engage with the world ; ie, how we approach it. What is our strongest drive? We are sold the lie that IQ is the most favourable and respected. IQ: logical, analytical, patterns, systems thinking. EQ: feelings-based, sensation, colours, creativity, right-brain. PQ: hands on, like to just get things done, enjoy activity, making things. SQ: Going with gut, intuition, aware of otherness, etc. Put yourself in the corner where you feel you have the strongest drive… PQ opp SQ, IQ opp EQ… look across the room. These are the people you are likely to have the most problems with, in terms of life and work. Point to where you feel that you are in relation to the others. Put yourself in the place where you think you should be. Are you open or closed?
  2. Fear is normal and can be quite motivating. Anything new or different can keep us in check because it can seem like a threat to our current existence or the way that we do things . Sometimes though we can imagine a negative outcome so strongly that it prevents us from even attempting something in the first place. Using the fear as a lever and not a barrier . Being aware of fear and then taking the correct action to move forward…
  3. The days are structured like the brain evolved: Survival – we need to see the benefit of the programme in order for us to engage. Emotional /memory – if we feel understood and at ease we will engage and learn and recall Thinking – if we feel safe and supported we can then start to think.
