Content description:
Candid conversations occurred as we brought together mentees and their mentor. This webinar on Tuesday 15 November was an opportunity to learn from individual mentees and ask questions of both mentees and mentor.
APM Mentoring Network is an established contact point for mentoring/reverse mentoring. This webinar provided an opportunity to hear from some of those who’ve met through this initiative.
Gemma and James gave their insights to their approach to a mentoring relationship, their perceived and actual benefits.
Sheilina hosted the discussions with Gemma and James; sharing our approaches, observations and learning across our mentoring relationships.
The focus for this webinar was on the mentee perspective, their preparation and intentions of mentoring. Sheilina shared her a mentor perspective.
Every interaction can provide opportunity for mentoring and reverse mentoring – by sharing our experiences we invite others to benefit from mentoring relationships.
We invited questions from everyone attending and gave candid and professional responses.
The premise upon which our relationships are built and sustained are ably summarised by Ms Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
