My school's name is Moulay Youssef . It's a school where students learn new
things. My school environment is clean to let students study comfortably. It
consists of 6 classrooms and two science labs. My school is located at a very
peaceful place and away from the noise and the smoke of the city. My school is
very excellent; it has small gardens, one library, a reading room and a big
playground. It also contains a sale’s cart that is rolled by a great person. It also
contains soccer field, basketball court… My school has around twenty highly
qualified teachers including men and women. Our teachers teach us very politely
and they make us learn subjects in very creative ways. Moulay Youssef High
School is the only place where we learn everything with the help of our teachers.
They make us work hard and they make us tough to go ahead in our life. Our
school organizes quizzes competition and sports competition which are
compulsory for us to participate in. In studies, our school shows good results
every year and we are so proud of that. Our teachers are strict they teach us with
great care, they help us when we need help, but if we are inattentive and we don't
want to work properly they warn us. We like our school and we are proud of all
those things that belong to it and we shall never forget it.   

The question that each student should ask himself or herself is; why am I studying? Why do I come
to school every day?
Knowing the value of being educated is the first step you should take towards establishing a
standpoint to comprehend your surroundings and your deepest psyche. From this point, education
is not just getting knowledge or information from school, but also the nourishment of mind and
soul. The feeding here is of course with morals, values, or at least standards for a decent character.
One of the most important ideas that are needed to be stuck in students’ minds is the fact that the
willingness in education is more crucial than considering it as a duty or a job that they have to do to
satisfy their parents’ desire of seeing them achieving success only through degrees. In fact, degrees
are also necessary for the continuation of this process; however, what matters at the end is their own
passion and longing to get satisfied.
After knowing the value of education and grasping the significance of the willingness, students need
to be aware of the distractions that can take their focus away from the core of their mission which is
self-development. One of the most disturbing and momentous distractions is the over use of
technological devices especially the smart-phones that are connected to the Internet. Most students
have those smart-phones which block their minds and make them alert only to the steady and the
moving pictures. Therefore, the letters on both books and board seems uninteresting.

Exam Preparation and Performance Tips
Every person is born with a particular potential which is unique. People are of
different types and not all of them are brilliant students. Many work hard to get good
marks, while others don't and yet manage to score well during examinations. There
are also students who study hard but don't get the desired percentage. How to prepare
for exams is a big question. Here are a few preparation tips to help students ace in
exams:
Good Time Table
Before starting with the studies, students should design their own time-table which
directs all the material that has to be covered and tells them how much is needed to
be studied each day. A schedule of every subject should be made with different
priorities.
Loose that Fear
Fear and stress are one of the major factors which tend to become an obstacle in
getting high percentage. One should loose all the fear and free his mind.
Don't Cram, Make Notes
Students should let go off the cramming part as it is not a good method of studying.
Instead of this, they should make short notes while studying. Cramming everything
can result in forgetting everything and making brief notes can help in remembering
all points while revising the subject.
Where to Study?
Study in a place where you feel comfortable, relaxed and where you can concentrate
properly. If you can, study early morning, head to a library or any place where you
find a quiet ambience.
Trust God and Yourself
It is much important that you are confident about yourself of producing splendid
result.
The word of today:
Bookworm: Someone who spends a great deal of time reading
6
Sleep and Eat Well
The biggest mistake students commit during exam time is that they don't sleep and
eat well. They think sleeping is a waste of time. They should believe in the fact that
they need to sleep between 6-8 hours a day. They also need to take care of their diet.
They should include food which supplies continuous energy to their brain for a
longer period of time.
Time to Study
According to a research conducted, human brain is in its most active state between 5
am to 8 am in the morning and in the evening between 7 pm to 11 pm. Therefore,
students who study during these timings have the maximum retention power.
Use Creative Techniques
If students find their subjects boring, they can convert their chapters into various
types of games such as repetition, flash cards and mnemonics. Students should sit
with their notebook and write over and over, draw flash cards with information on
them and go over them regularly, design funny rhymes or word associations to help
remember the points.
Never Cheat in Exam Hall
Students should always be advised by their parents as well their teachers as to not use
any kind of malpractice in exam hall as it may prove to be harmful for them and their
future. If an answer is not known by them, they shouldn't attempt it as they have to
prove no one but themselves.
Write Neat and Present Well
When students write neatly and present their answer sheet in a proper way, they have
more chances of securing high marks. Many times the teacher is not able to read all
the answers but if he/she gets impressed by the way it has been presented then it
would definitely lead to less deduction of marks.
The night before the exam
Don’t spend the night before an exam trying to cram in more or new information.
At this stage, it’s better just to take a shower and have rest.
On exam day
Allow plenty of time in the morning to get yourself ready to leave on time for the
exam. Have a healthy meal; preferably with protein that will provide slow energy
release over several hours. Take fruit bars with you to sustain you through a 3-hour
exam. Make sure you take your student card and appropriate writing instruments
(pens, pencils, ruler, eraser, etc.). Arrive in good time but don’t talk too much with
other students about the topics or the exam.
^_^ Good luck for everyone ^_^

HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART II
It’s about the final year of Harry at Hogwarts. He and his friends tried to
destroy the Horcruxes (parts of Voldemort’s soul), and they did it by fighting
through a battle called the battle of Hogwarts. Unfortunately, at the end of
the battle, a lot of characters died like professor Snape, Lupin, Fred… and by
the way, Harry killed Voldemort.
This film was set in London;
the capital of England. I loved how
Harry and his friends stick together
and find the bravery within them.
I really liked the fact that
everybody thought that Snape
was a bad character until the
end when they realized that he
was trying to protect them. It
taught me to never judge people by
their appearances. There’s
nothing I didn’t like about this movie, everything was perfect, and the film
is flawless. Hafsa Jennouhi

INSHA ALLAH
Every time you feel like you cannot go on
You feel so lost
And That you’re so alone
All you see is night
And darkness all around
You feel so helpless
You can`t see which way to go
Don`t despair and never lose hope
Cause Allah is always by your side
Insha Allah
Insha Allah you`ll find your way
Insha Allah
Insha Allah you`ll find your way
Every time you commit one more mistake
You feel you can`t repent
And that it’s way too late
You`re so confused, wrong decisions you have made
Haunt your mind and your heart is full of shame
Don`t despair and never lose hope
Cause Allah is always by your side
Insha Allah
Insha Allah you`ll find your way
Insha Allah
Insha Allah you`ll find your way
Turn to Allah
He`s never far away
Put your trust in Him
Raise your hands and pray
OOO Ya Allah
Guide my steps don`t let me go astray
You`re the only one that showed me the way

A letter to a pen-pal
Oulad Berhil
March 10th
Dear Laura,
I’m glad to tell you about our celebrations. Well, one of the strange celebrations in
Morocco is Ashura.
It’s celebrated on the 10th of Muharram. People do a lot of activities to celebrate it.
They light a bonfire in the open air at night. They wear scary masks and strange
costumes. Moreover, some Muslims fast during two days. They also eat some dry
meat left from Aid EL-kbir. Further, kids do some activities to enjoy themselves in this
celebration. They splash each other with water and throw eggs at each other.
On the other hand, we find some Moroccan people think that all those activities are
just superstitious. They just fast, pray and give dates to their children.
I hope that I helped you to know more about my country, and I wish you’ll come to
celebrate with us. It will be very enjoyable.
Friendly yours,
Khawla Bazzi.

 "You can't take it with you when you die”
 When we die we leave everything on earth. We don't take anything with us. Even the richest
people cannot take their money with them after death. This proverb reminds us that some material
things are not really so valuable as we think.
 “It was the last straw that broke the camel's back”
 There is a limit to everything. This can be applied to many things in life. People often say "That's
the last straw!" when they will not accept any more of something.
 “He teaches ill, who teaches all”
 The word "ill" here means "badly". So it means that the teacher, who teaches students everything,
does not teach well. A good teacher lets students discover some things for themselves.
 “Even a worm will turn”
 Everybody will revolt if driven too far. Even the lowest of people, or animals, will revolt and hit back
at some stage. Even a worm, the simplest of animals, will defend itself.
 “If the stone falls upon the egg, alas for the egg! If the egg falls upon the stone,
alas for the egg”
 “Life just isn't fair, and this realistic Arabic proverb recognizes that. The stone will always break
the egg. Life's like that.”
 “Empty vessels make the most noise”
 Those people who have a little knowledge usually talk the most and make the greatest fuss.
Another proverb with the same meaning, Great talkers are little doers.
 “A penny saved is a penny gained”
 By being thrifty one will be able to save up.
 “As you sow, so you shall reap”
 One will either enjoy or suffer the consequences of his earlier actions or inactions.
 “A rolling stone gathers no moss”
 A person who never settles in one place or who often changes his job will not succeed in life;
one who is always changing his mind will never get anything done.
 “An ounce of discretion is worth a pound of wit”
 It is better to be careful and discrete than to be clever.
 “A man is as old as he feels”
 A person's age is immaterial - it is only when he thinks and feels that he is ageing that he
actually becomes old.
 “Where there's a will there's a way”
 When a person really wants to do something, he will find a way of doing it.

Mind Blowing Facts
 Humans can distinguish between at least a trillion smells.
 Almost every element in your body was made in an exploding star.
 There are about 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms in a human body.
 There are about 86 billion neurons in an average human brain.
 Every atom in your body is billions of years old.
 Looking at stars is basically looking into the past, because of how long it takes
the light from them to reach us. Some of them don’t exist anymore.
 The Internet weighs about a strawberry. The weight of all the electrons in motion.
 The world’s oceans contain 20 million tons of gold.
 There are more cells of bacteria in your body than there are human cells.
 Atoms are mostly empty space. So, if you removed all the empty space from the
atoms that make up all the humans on Earth, the remaining mass could fit inside
a sugar cube.

  • 4. 3 My school's name is Moulay Youssef . It's a school where students learn new things. My school environment is clean to let students study comfortably. It consists of 6 classrooms and two science labs. My school is located at a very peaceful place and away from the noise and the smoke of the city. My school is very excellent; it has small gardens, one library, a reading room and a big playground. It also contains a sale’s cart that is rolled by a great person. It also contains soccer field, basketball court… My school has around twenty highly qualified teachers including men and women. Our teachers teach us very politely and they make us learn subjects in very creative ways. Moulay Youssef High School is the only place where we learn everything with the help of our teachers. They make us work hard and they make us tough to go ahead in our life. Our school organizes quizzes competition and sports competition which are compulsory for us to participate in. In studies, our school shows good results every year and we are so proud of that. Our teachers are strict they teach us with great care, they help us when we need help, but if we are inattentive and we don't want to work properly they warn us. We like our school and we are proud of all those things that belong to it and we shall never forget it.    By : Said Eloili, Khawla Bazzi and Ossama Ghouiba
  • 5. 4 The question that each student should ask himself or herself is; why am I studying? Why do I come to school every day? Knowing the value of being educated is the first step you should take towards establishing a standpoint to comprehend your surroundings and your deepest psyche. From this point, education is not just getting knowledge or information from school, but also the nourishment of mind and soul. The feeding here is of course with morals, values, or at least standards for a decent character. One of the most important ideas that are needed to be stuck in students’ minds is the fact that the willingness in education is more crucial than considering it as a duty or a job that they have to do to satisfy their parents’ desire of seeing them achieving success only through degrees. In fact, degrees are also necessary for the continuation of this process; however, what matters at the end is their own passion and longing to get satisfied. After knowing the value of education and grasping the significance of the willingness, students need to be aware of the distractions that can take their focus away from the core of their mission which is self-development. One of the most disturbing and momentous distractions is the over use of technological devices especially the smart-phones that are connected to the Internet. Most students have those smart-phones which block their minds and make them alert only to the steady and the moving pictures. Therefore, the letters on both books and board seems uninteresting. A word from your English teacher
  • 6. 5 Exam Preparation and Performance Tips Every person is born with a particular potential which is unique. People are of different types and not all of them are brilliant students. Many work hard to get good marks, while others don't and yet manage to score well during examinations. There are also students who study hard but don't get the desired percentage. How to prepare for exams is a big question. Here are a few preparation tips to help students ace in exams: Good Time Table Before starting with the studies, students should design their own time-table which directs all the material that has to be covered and tells them how much is needed to be studied each day. A schedule of every subject should be made with different priorities. Loose that Fear Fear and stress are one of the major factors which tend to become an obstacle in getting high percentage. One should loose all the fear and free his mind. Don't Cram, Make Notes Students should let go off the cramming part as it is not a good method of studying. Instead of this, they should make short notes while studying. Cramming everything can result in forgetting everything and making brief notes can help in remembering all points while revising the subject. Where to Study? Study in a place where you feel comfortable, relaxed and where you can concentrate properly. If you can, study early morning, head to a library or any place where you find a quiet ambience. Trust God and Yourself It is much important that you are confident about yourself of producing splendid result. The word of today: Bookworm: Someone who spends a great deal of time reading
  • 7. 6 Sleep and Eat Well The biggest mistake students commit during exam time is that they don't sleep and eat well. They think sleeping is a waste of time. They should believe in the fact that they need to sleep between 6-8 hours a day. They also need to take care of their diet. They should include food which supplies continuous energy to their brain for a longer period of time. Time to Study According to a research conducted, human brain is in its most active state between 5 am to 8 am in the morning and in the evening between 7 pm to 11 pm. Therefore, students who study during these timings have the maximum retention power. Use Creative Techniques If students find their subjects boring, they can convert their chapters into various types of games such as repetition, flash cards and mnemonics. Students should sit with their notebook and write over and over, draw flash cards with information on them and go over them regularly, design funny rhymes or word associations to help remember the points. Never Cheat in Exam Hall Students should always be advised by their parents as well their teachers as to not use any kind of malpractice in exam hall as it may prove to be harmful for them and their future. If an answer is not known by them, they shouldn't attempt it as they have to prove no one but themselves. Write Neat and Present Well When students write neatly and present their answer sheet in a proper way, they have more chances of securing high marks. Many times the teacher is not able to read all the answers but if he/she gets impressed by the way it has been presented then it would definitely lead to less deduction of marks. The night before the exam Don’t spend the night before an exam trying to cram in more or new information. At this stage, it’s better just to take a shower and have rest. On exam day Allow plenty of time in the morning to get yourself ready to leave on time for the exam. Have a healthy meal; preferably with protein that will provide slow energy release over several hours. Take fruit bars with you to sustain you through a 3-hour exam. Make sure you take your student card and appropriate writing instruments (pens, pencils, ruler, eraser, etc.). Arrive in good time but don’t talk too much with other students about the topics or the exam. ^_^ Good luck for everyone ^_^ By Oumaima Machkour and Hafsa Jennouhi
  • 8. 7 HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART II It’s about the final year of Harry at Hogwarts. He and his friends tried to destroy the Horcruxes (parts of Voldemort’s soul), and they did it by fighting through a battle called the battle of Hogwarts. Unfortunately, at the end of the battle, a lot of characters died like professor Snape, Lupin, Fred… and by the way, Harry killed Voldemort. This film was set in London; the capital of England. I loved how Harry and his friends stick together and find the bravery within them. I really liked the fact that everybody thought that Snape was a bad character until the end when they realized that he was trying to protect them. It taught me to never judge people by their appearances. There’s nothing I didn’t like about this movie, everything was perfect, and the film is flawless. Hafsa Jennouhi CINE CLUB

  • 11. 10 A letter to a pen-pal Oulad Berhil March 10th Dear Laura, I’m glad to tell you about our celebrations. Well, one of the strange celebrations in Morocco is Ashura. It’s celebrated on the 10th of Muharram. People do a lot of activities to celebrate it. They light a bonfire in the open air at night. They wear scary masks and strange costumes. Moreover, some Muslims fast during two days. They also eat some dry meat left from Aid EL-kbir. Further, kids do some activities to enjoy themselves in this celebration. They splash each other with water and throw eggs at each other. On the other hand, we find some Moroccan people think that all those activities are just superstitious. They just fast, pray and give dates to their children. I hope that I helped you to know more about my country, and I wish you’ll come to celebrate with us. It will be very enjoyable. Friendly yours, Khawla Bazzi.
  • 12. 11  "You can't take it with you when you die”  When we die we leave everything on earth. We don't take anything with us. Even the richest people cannot take their money with them after death. This proverb reminds us that some material things are not really so valuable as we think.  “It was the last straw that broke the camel's back”  There is a limit to everything. This can be applied to many things in life. People often say "That's the last straw!" when they will not accept any more of something.  “He teaches ill, who teaches all”  The word "ill" here means "badly". So it means that the teacher, who teaches students everything, does not teach well. A good teacher lets students discover some things for themselves.  “Even a worm will turn”  Everybody will revolt if driven too far. Even the lowest of people, or animals, will revolt and hit back at some stage. Even a worm, the simplest of animals, will defend itself.  “If the stone falls upon the egg, alas for the egg! If the egg falls upon the stone, alas for the egg”  “Life just isn't fair, and this realistic Arabic proverb recognizes that. The stone will always break the egg. Life's like that.”  “Empty vessels make the most noise”  Those people who have a little knowledge usually talk the most and make the greatest fuss. Another proverb with the same meaning, Great talkers are little doers.  “A penny saved is a penny gained”  By being thrifty one will be able to save up.  “As you sow, so you shall reap”  One will either enjoy or suffer the consequences of his earlier actions or inactions.  “A rolling stone gathers no moss”  A person who never settles in one place or who often changes his job will not succeed in life; one who is always changing his mind will never get anything done.  “An ounce of discretion is worth a pound of wit”  It is better to be careful and discrete than to be clever.  “A man is as old as he feels”  A person's age is immaterial - it is only when he thinks and feels that he is ageing that he actually becomes old.  “Where there's a will there's a way”  When a person really wants to do something, he will find a way of doing it. My grandmother would tell me, "You're next" However; she stopped doing that after I started saying the same thing to her at funerals. Question: What can you catch but not throw? Answer: A cold. My Recipe Mind Blowing Facts  Humans can distinguish between at least a trillion smells.  Almost every element in your body was made in an exploding star.  There are about 7,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms in a human body.  There are about 86 billion neurons in an average human brain.  Every atom in your body is billions of years old.  Looking at stars is basically looking into the past, because of how long it takes the light from them to reach us. Some of them don’t exist anymore.  The Internet weighs about a strawberry. The weight of all the electrons in motion.  The world’s oceans contain 20 million tons of gold.  There are more cells of bacteria in your body than there are human cells.  Atoms are mostly empty space. So, if you removed all the empty space from the atoms that make up all the humans on Earth, the remaining mass could fit inside a sugar cube. By: Mohamed Bouikhef and Abdssamade Zahidi
