A fossil is the remains of a living organism.
(It can be a plant or an animal)
Includes bones, teeth, hair or shells

Sometimes, living things leave a mark in a
material like: mud; by time the materials can
harden into rock & these marks are saved in
the rocks, this is called: Imprint & it is a type
of fossils.

As the time passes, the
bones become hard like:
rocks & fossils are formed.

The soft parts of the animal (ex. skin) decay.
Over a long time the sand and bones
become rock.

Must die in a wet environment
Must be buried quickly so the organism is not
eaten, decomposed or weathered.
Must have parts capable of being
fossilized…hard parts.

energy.
Resources of energy can be:
1) Renewable resources.
2) Non-renewable resources.

They are the resources of energy that can
be used again & again “replaced”.
Examples:
1) Solar energy: Is the energy from the sun that is
used to produce electricity.

be re-used “used again” if they finish.
Examples:
Fossil fuels: Fossil fuels take millions of
years to form & once they are used up, they
are gone forever
