Teachers are starting to use social networks like Facebook and wikis to engage students in learning, with 99% of students connected online during class. While some experiments using computers and social networks for teaching have not worked out, the majority of teachers surveyed found that computer-assisted teaching was effective, and 65% said it was worth it, although some students get distracted checking their own social media instead of focusing on classwork. Science teachers particularly like using wikis for collaborative lab reports.
