3. Goals For our event we wanted to be more successful than previous years. Our goals were To increase attendance from 45 to 90 To have more retention from our guests at the viewing party To interact with guests during the event with give-a-ways and prizes To increase awareness of NASCAR and the NASCAR Kinetics Program.
4. Objectives In order to obtain our goals, we designed some objectives. Our objectives were: To use every piece of media that is available to us students to promote the event To have more and better prizes and give-a-ways for our guests To have an open event for all to attend
5. Target Market Our target market was the community of Mt. Pleasant MI. This target market also included the community of Central Michigan University. We marketed to them through flyer, new paper ad and radio.
6. Marketing Marketing on any campus for an event is hard to do. Our flyers had to be fun and lively in order to get families and student to our event.
7. Facebook In order to gain a college crowd interest we used facebook as one source of medium. Many of our statuses were changed to encourage more attendance on the day of the viewing party.
8. NEWSPAPER Nick Smith was able to contact the Morning Sun, a newspaper for the Mid-Michigan Area. We were able to place an advertisement and have an article written about us in the NASCAR section.
9. Radio Ryan Miller was able to secure a spot on modern rock 91.5 radio. This radio station is broadcasted throughout Mt. Pleasant and CMU’s Campus.
10. SUCCESS! We have achieved all our goals. We had 105 guests sign in at our table. Including those that signed in for extra credit from two classes. Almost 2/3 of our guests had stayed at least ¾ of the race. This was due to our involvement with having one specific prize the M&M Guessing game, the winner must be present. All premium items we had received from NASCAR were given out to our guests. Many of the guests had asked about the cases studies and the planning of the event. We have several of the guests as about doing the program next year.
13. Budget With our budget we were lucky enough to not have to pay for a venue fee at Buffalo Wild Wings. We also received $100 of free wings at the venue. This widened our budget to allow for our guests to be treated to more wings. This was the majority of our budget. Other things we used our money for decorations, marketing materials, and three prizes.
