Social media and the mobile web has given rise to a strange phenomenon called the
“Selfie,” and now we are witnessing selfie mobile phones, selfie apps and don’t know
what else.
Now a Japanese company, LINE Corporation owner of the free call and messaging app
LINE has launched a new camera app named as B612.
The Download camera b612 app is especially developed for selfie lovers so that they
can capture a prefect selfie and feel a new experience they never felt before. The name
B612 has been taken from a novel “The Little Prince,” where the B612 is planet.

The interface of B612 is simple and straightforward, discounting the complicated user
setup requirements. The app employs the front camera and just require a touch
2. anywhere on the screen to take a picture, so a user is good to go as soon as the app is
switched on.
The B612 is based on soft-focus technology that refines images to create a smooth, yet
stunning, visual effect. It offers 43 professional-grade filters allowing user to have fun
and give their selfies different textures depending on their mood.
Once you’ve taken the photo, the app allows you to share your pic to social networks,
blogs, and profiles. Currently the B612 is only available for iOS platform, and for
Android users, Line says they users will have to “wait a little while” before it is available
to them.
It is interesting that Line, which has its maximum number of users in the Asia-Pacific
region has not released its new app for Android first. Ironically, the regions where Line
has maximum penetration are Android dominated, so is this a strategy to tap into the
Western markets?
