benefits of
a digital
education
Social capital : 57% of teens they have made a new friend online, and 83% state that social media
makes them feel more connected and informed about their friends’ lives
Economic disparity : Earnings benefit by 2028 to the economy to equate to £571 million.
NHS savings: cost savings to the NHS to total £141 million by 2028. NHS reports a return on
investment of £6.40 for every £1.00 spent by the NHS on digital inclusion support.
Employment : Total employability benefits to amount to £313 million by 2028.
Time : Value of time saved by 2028 to be £1.1 billion.
Communication benefits: Aggregate additional expenditure on recreational and cultural
activities to amount to £400 million by 2028.
