What is the STaR Chart
• In compliance with NCLB, the STaR Chart is
  created to create a campus profile of
  technology integration in the classroom for
  teaching and learning.
• The teacher survey is used as a gauge to
  determine at what stage their campus is in
  with the Long-Range Technology Plan.
Overview of the Texas STaR Chart
Long-Range Technology Plan
• The Long-Range Technology Plan is broken
  into 4 categories:
1. Teaching and Learning
2. Educator Preparation and Development
3. Leadership, Administration, and
   Development
4. Infrastructure for Technology
Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology
Teaching and Learning
• Have access to relevant technologies, tools, resources and
  services for individualized instruction 24/7.

• Use information and communication technologies to
  collaborate, construct knowledge and provide solutions to
  real-world problems.

• Use research based strategies in all subject areas to improve
  academic achievement.

• Communicate effectively in a variety of formats for diverse
  audiences.

  tool where learning is collaborative, interactive and customized.

• Ensure integration of appropriate technology throughout all of

•   Offer expanded curricular and instructional opportunities to students via
    online, digital technology, and a variety of distance learning technologies

•   Provide opportunities for sustained, relevant and timely staff development
    in a variety of formats.

    learning process as well as throughout administration.
