The Impact Of Computer Technology On Students
We are living in the age of computers technology. In the recent decade, these machines became a
very popular and an important part of the human's life; as a result, today we are surrounded by
computers everywhere. We have computers at homes, educational institutions, offices, hospitals,
banks, supermarkets and so on. However, we cannot deny this fact that computers are given great
importance in the education sector and students are the key part of it.
Different studies have revealed (Study link is given below) that computers have many advantages on
numerous significant areas of a student's life, for example, in the field of education, entertainment
purposes and building social relationships. However, students can have serious Educational,
Physical, social and psychological disadvantages from prolonged computer use. This essay provides
an overview of the impacts of computer technology on students.
Today computer is an essential tool for students in the educational sector. It can store huge amount
of data at one place so students can save notes assignments and books in it. It reduces the amount
of the books students need to carry physically because many online stores like Amazon sell the
soft copy of academic books which is always cheaper and no shipping is required for that. There
are several software programs available to help student enhance their learning skills, for example,
improving vocabulary, writing skills, including grammar as well as spelling check, getting easy

Teacher 's Impact On Students

Teacher's Impact on Students Have you ever had a class where you felt that your time went down
the drain? There is this expectation of teachers to teach student to be successful and to think
critically. When students are failing or falling behind, we tend to think that it is because they are lazy
and just don't care about their education since they don't put in the effort. But what if it's the teacher
who is at fault? What if some of those teachers are putting students down? Teachers could also be
the main reason why students are also failing. Although it's the responsibility of the students to do
their assigned work and to find ways to understand what it is that they are being taught, teachers
who have higher standard than teachers who don't are more likely to get better results from
students. In the article, "I Just Wanna Be Average," author Mike Rose says, "students will float to
the mark you set" (Rose 2). If the teacher set high standards than students will put in more effort but
if the teacher is disillusion or monotonous then students will just stop caring. Rather, a student learns
or put in the effort greatly depends on themselves and the teacher. A teacher cannot help student if
they do not make the effort. A student cannot hope to be successful in a class if the teacher doesn't
offer to help or treat everyone on the same level. Throughout the story, Rose gives examples of how
teachers are a vital part

Students and University Life Adjustments
Students and University Life Adjustments Human life consists of various stages and each stage has
its own characteristics and features. Proceeding through these stages is a joyful experience and
human beings always long for the next stage to come. No doubt, people enjoy recollecting old
memories but there is always a charm in imagining the time to come. It is valid for all individuals but
for the students, the next stage is the symbol of progress and development. Students particularly
wish for the next stage which they see their seniors passing by and long for the same phase to come
in their life. Entering university life is one of the most special events of students' lives. It is because
of multiple reasons. The first and foremost reason is its being the highest level of educational
institute one can attend in life. University provides maximum learning and development
opportunities to students. Furthermore, as the universities go global, their cultures become diverse
and provide the students with an environment in which they learn about various countries, their
backgrounds, preferences and cultures. University education is not the same as imparted in school
and college. The teaching methods are different, so are the contents and teaching styles. In many
universities, choices related to class schedule are also given. All these aspects make university a
charming place and students wish to start their university life with enthusiasm. This paper gives an
idea about the

Stress Among College Students Essay examples
College is a time of extreme stress due to societal and parental pressures. College students have
expectations they have to live up to in order to fulfill and satisfy the needs of both their parents and
society. Stress is expressed through a variety of symptoms that can be hazardous to student's physical
and mental health. With such high expectations to do well during college, students may become
sleep deprived, which impairs mental capacity, but sleep deprivation is only one of a vast array of
symptoms. Stress is present in all aspects of life and there are multiple causes of stress, especially,
during the college period which may present itself through many symptoms, but with stress, there are
also various coping methods to help students...show more content...
According to Lupien, McEwan, Gunnar, and Heim (2009), going off to college involves significant
adjustments to their daily routines; sleeping and eating habits, time–management skills, and stress
levels will be altered in one way or another. First–year students have to adjust to the new school
environment, different social settings, and new schedules, all without the help and guidance from
their parents, who have been there for them for eighteen years. Over 30% of college freshman
report that they feel overwhelmed (Klainberg, Ewing, & Ryan, 2010), where some students even
opt to work as they juggle their class and work schedules. Some students work at a job or study
harder than others, but they are all trying to get degrees so maybe one day they will have
meaningful and significant lives. It is a constant struggle for everyone who is trying desperately to
make him or herself into a success. And every college student wants to be involved in society in a
positive manner, allowing contribution of their ideals and values to others. Stress in college is
caused by many other influencing factors. One of these important factors would have to be the
expectations set by parents. They are normally the reason students are in college, so pleasing them
by getting good grades is almost mandatory. The thought of displeasing out parents can be
detrimental to our thought process; meaning that it most likely would cause impaired

International Students Essay example
Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that
studying in a different country is a privilege because they are able to experience other cultures, and
learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because
International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot
handle it very well. Therefore, in the United States the life of an international student is very
unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to
learn a new language to study, they cannot work while studying, and their tuition is much more
expensive. When people moves to the United Stated to study they...show more content...
They know their structure and have a very superior vocabulary, so they can compose excellent
essays. In addition, since American students speak English very well, they do not have any
problem participating in class. They have confidence in themselves, so they will not be afraid of
saying something wrong. Consequently, because American students do not have to learn any
language to study their mayor, it is much easier for them to achieve excellent grades. Most
university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money
in order to be independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students
because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent from their parents or whoever is
responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very
difficult because they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited
since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for an international student to
find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is
not going to have any problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from
Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted to get a job in order to
have his own money. He went to

Essay on Dorm Life
Dorm Life
College can be great; living with your roommates can be a nightmare. But wait......before you throw
in the towel, make sure you know and understand the rules of a dorm room. Dorm life is something
almost every college student must experience. It's not as easy as it seems either. Most of the time
students will try to room with people they know, but normally a student can't be that lucky to make
that happen. It can actually be easier living with people who are complete strangers, than living with
people that have been there through life.
The first thing to accomplish is knowing the fact that in a dorm room, everyone has a job. Everyone
in the room must provide certain things. For example, one should bring the...show more content...
Your effectiveness with this message will depend on how assertively you deliver it. Try not to
sound meek and apologetic, because then they may dismiss your concerns. But try not to sound
blaming and angry either, as if they are a horrible person; that will make them defensive. In both
your choice of words and tone of voice, strive to come across as one friendly, reasonable adult
talking to another friendly, reasonable adult. You have something important you want to say, and
you assume they'll listen."
Being inconsiderate with one another is something else many roommates have problems with.
Classes are at different times, so waking up to get ready for class with occur at different times as
well. A roommate may get to sleep longer than another roommate. So if there were another room, to
not make problems, it would be best to get ready where the other roommates can't be disturbed.
Slamming things around, and being loud in general is neither considerate nor respectful of the other
people living there. Problems will more than likely occur and living together will be much harder.
Every College student should know, you must be considerate with one another or else your living
situations are going to have a downslide. You can't take for granted that your roommate, or anyone
else, will know what you want or do what you think they should. People aren't mind readers. To get
results, you have to communicate assertively, expressing your wishes, feelings and needs

My Life As A Student
My life as a student has been a fairly good one. I've received good grades throughout all my years
of high school and pride myself as an intelligent individual. But my individual ability to grow and
learn has been always changing and shifting as I have grown. I think that currently, I am at a low
point in my mindset and learning ability, but there is hope on the horizon. This essay will explore
the growth and mindset of Will Roser, and how I can grow as a learner, friend, and individual. As
a student, I have some habits that I rely on, both good and bad. I am usually a good student,
receiving above average grades and I am moderately happy with them. My strength is that I
always get everything done on time. I never have an excuse because my work is always done. I
pride myself on that fact. And although that may seem like a good quality, the fact that I
procrastinate so much does affect how good that work may be. So yes, I always finish my work
which is always a good thing, but it may be at the expense of my sleep schedule. I tend to do most of
my work the day before, despite telling myself over and over again that it needs to be done earlier.
Luckily I have hope for my habits as I am still young. I still have to work on my procrastination but I
think that I can improve as long as I start to see the benefits of starting work early. As William
James says in his essay Habit, "The period between twenty and thirty is the critical one in the
formation of intellectual and

A Teacher Can Impact A Student 's Life
Confucius, a famous Chinese teacher said, "Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope.
Hope breeds peace." In the previous quote by Confucius, it is obvious that a teacher can impact a
student's life. Moreover (TRANS), the way a teacher generates hope and confidence provide a good
equity at school for the students; therefore, a good teacher spread confidence in students, which may
help them to be encouraged. Maintaining the right balance of strictness and friendliness,
encouraging students, and finding the right teaching methods for each student are three of the many
characteristics in becoming an inspirational teacher. First, maintaining the right balance of strictness
and friendliness is one of the most impactful factors for a teacher who (AC) tries to have an
appropriate relationship between students. Also, instructors are supposed to follow up with their
students to understand students' difficulties and their situation in life. Providing an email address,
phone number, and office hours help students to keep in touch with their instructor. However,
teachers need to keep the balance between friendliness and strictness; moreover, an inspirational
instructor needs to set up some rules for the classroom environment. For example, the instructor may
request students politely that they are not allowed to use their phone during the class because it
distracts them from paying attention to the class and subject. However, instructors should not be
hard for their students

School Life And College Life Essay
An Essay on School Life and College Life
There is a great deal of difference between school life and college life. School life is a life of
restrictions and control, a life in which the student has to be accountable for his daily work to his
teachers and his guardian. But a college student, of the other hand, enjoys much greater freedom
from control and supervision; he is, to a very large extent, the master of his own destiny. It lies with
him to make it or mar it.
At school the students has to be in attendance for fixed hours every day. He has to leave home at ten
or eleven and return at four at college, however, the hours of attendance very. Sometimes, a college
student has hardly time in the morning to gulp his food; at others, he has enough time to lounge
about for a few minutes after a leisurely meal. On some days he returns early from college; or
others, it is late evening by the time he gets back home. He has ample time at his disposal to use,
abuse, or misuse.
At school the student has to prepare his daily lessons and may be taken to task for what he has left
undone. But at college he can do his lessons daily, or not...show more content...
At school, students acquire habits of discipline and regularity. They have to practice obedience and
follow instruction. But at college students are expected to develop a sense of responsibility and
personal initiative. In other words, what a school student has to do under com–pulsing is done by the
college students out of his greater sense of responsibility. Of course it has to be admitted that
college life offers greater scope to a student to go astray. It he takes himself light–heartedly, he will
have to suffer. It he allows arrears of studies to accumulate he will pay the price with failure and
disgrace. Hence a studious pupil improves more rapidly at college than at school; but a waster

My Life As A College Student Essay
Over the course of the last semester, I grew tremendously, not just as a writer but as a student. I
learned skills and tactics that will last me throughout my life and will benefit me once I begin the
next four years of my life as a college student. This early gateway into college writing provided me
with exposure to the expectations that I will face in the college classroom. This will come in
handy in the English classroom, as well as in every subject I will face over the course of the next
four years, and beyond. Writing is a key skill that communicates ideas and information, and is
essential to being successful. Whether I go into the music industry or find myself in a
completely unforeseen career, it is certain that I will use my writing skills at some point. This
class sharpened those skills and prepared me for the future in ways no high school english class
could. This class has challenged me to think more in depth than I ever have before. It forced me to
use my writing as a means of expressing knowledge, ideas, and facts in a clear organized manner. In
order to accomplish the goals of each paper assigned, I found new ways to present the same
information. For example, in every essay I included the theme that governments should be more
involved in the fight against cyber warfare. However, I presented this idea in each paper in different
forms. In the summary, I simply stated what an author of a certain article had to say about this idea.
In the critique, I discussed

Negative Effects Of Technology On Student Life
Negative Effects of Technology on Student Life Technology has become an ever increasing necessity
in the modern life students. Students are starting to get too used to having technology there, and
they do not know how to function without it. Walking through a high school or college today, almost
every student would either be on their phone or have it with them somewhere. Over the years,
technology has improved immensely. It has become faster, more efficient, and easier to access. As a
result, the youth of today are more reliant on the use of their devices. Technology has created many
advancements in the world today, however, it has also negatively impacted students ability to have
social interactions, their overall academic performance, and everyday attitude toward life.
Technology affects the way students interact socially with other students, teachers and
administration, and can cause an extreme amount of social skills. Although not all students are
influenced negatively by technology, it does cause an issue for many. "One striking negative effect
of digital technology consumption is how it diminishes our capacity for empathy by limiting how
much people engage with one another" (Ives). In today's society, students are used to just emailing
their teachers and administration when they have questions. Having immediate access to email
causes them to not be able to speak well to the adults at their school. This also takes a toll on students
social skills. Because they are so used to emailing, texting, snapchatting, etc., most students are bad at
talking to adults and the administration at school. This can cause an extreme issue when it comes
time for students to interview for jobs, colleges, or scholarships. Another thing that technology
affects negatively is the amount of bullying and teacher bashing through social media. Students think
that if they put things on their social media accounts, that the school cannot do anything about it.
They think that since they are not in school then it is fine to put things online. This creates an
excessive amount of cyberbullying. Kids have more courage to say rude things online than they
would in real life. They do not have the ability to even speak in real life, as

Life Of A College Student Essay
Time sure does fly by! It feels as if it was just yesterday when we threw our graduation caps up in
the air. What will our future hold after we enter the next chapter in our lives? Many are
encouraged, debating, or even forced to enter their new chapter into the life of a college student.
High school graduates are given limited options in the generation we live in today. We grow up to
believe that success comes with the development of education as you grow from a pre–schooler to
an adult. Many don't continue their education because they don't want to live off of a piece of paper
their entire life. Parents and teachers influence students to continue their education after high school;
it increases their chances for the future career they pursue. Graduates should continue their education
because they gain independence, knowledge, and creates financial stability.
Several students who have part time jobs believe they make enough money; therefore, they don 't
consider being open–minded of future careers ahead of them. An example of a job that influences
young adults to believe that they make enough money to maintain their lives already are factories
like Walmart DC. Those students may be influenced by their parents because their mother or father
didn't continue their education either while still conserving enough money in their savings account.
Parents are role models to their kids whereas having motivation will only inspire students for further
success. Some may think that they

Essay about My Life
My Life
I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, and moved to California when I was very young. Before I moved
to California my dad traveled back and forth for 2 or 3 yrs from California and back to Costa Rica.
He spent most of his time working in the Fresno area, in the cities of Tulare, and Visalia. He says
he spent his time working in any available job including some farm labor jobs and went back to Costa
Rica to spend time with us. After the second time he left Costa Rica to come and work he did not
go back. At that time, amnesty was given to immigrants in California, and he moved up north to the
Bay area to find a steady job. That is when he saved enough money for my mother, my two siblings,
and I to join him in California.

I was in ESL programs until I entered junior high school. Learning the language, and trying to keep
up with the class work was a challenge for me. Having friends who spoke my language, and the
English language as well was an advantage I had. Having that extra help and support really made my
school experience challenging, but exciting as well.
Remembering the support I received from those friends creates a need in me to do the same for other
people. I don't only believe that the support that I can give to migrant students as a Mini–Corps
student will help them in succeeding in school, but I believe that an appreciation for school can
be gained as well, and hopefully bring insight for continuing their studies beyond high school. As
I improved in my English I also grew an interest in writing. I enjoyed my English classes, along
with my math classes too. My interest grew and grew, and I joined summer girl programs. After
participating two year, I became a mentor to those new peers coming into the program. I worked
with teachers in Science, and in Math classes. I also participated in the volleyball activities, and
group activities. This is when I realized I wanted to work with youth my whole life. My interest in
English, and my interest in being a role model to youth made me decide to become an English
teacher, especially working with students whose first language is not English.
Now, I am a college student. I first went to UC Santa Barbara, where I dealt with more

"How will college change my life?" Colleges are institutions of higher learning; I would go to

workload that requires more studying. College will change my life as I am open to many fields of

As college students, we as students must have a fierce ambition to accomplish a balance between
a healthy, steady social life and a bright academic future. Communication is an important tool in
life, not just inside college that broadens our horizons and makes us more intelligent generally.
The future working men and women who enter college are adults and will be treated as such. An
adult is one who has matured to know what is right and what is wrong. The importance of a rule
is a line between right and wrong that many places including colleges have as a guiding tool.
College students who enter are expected to follow rules as the rules are meant to protect us and set
a guideline. Adults also know how to be self–sufficient, being able to do their work, without anyone's
help or stealing someone else's work: plagiarism. College is where we are expected to perform to the
best of our abilities because as students we have a fierce ambition to get ahead by earning a degree.
College is a chance to be free and is a bridge between the real world and school. I'm an adult and
expected to behave as such; I make my own choices where I have to decide what is important to
me. I have an opportunity to learn how the world works, to explore the limitless possibilities and a
chance to admire how vast knowledge can be. College will change my life in the way that I can
develop life skills outside academics, to be fully

Short Composition on The Student Life
[Hints: introduction, its importance, duty of a student, conclusion]
The student life is the best period of our life. It is the time during which boys and girls get their
education in different educational institutions. The life is free from all sorts' anxieties. This is the time
when a student gathers knowledge, builds up his character and prepares himself for the future life.
His future life depends on how he spends his student life. If he makes the best use of his time, he
will be happy. If he neglects his duties, he will suffer in life. So it is rightly called the sowing
season of human life. A student's primary duty is to acquire knowledge. For that he must study
hard. He should read newspapers, magazines and periodicals. He should be careful about his health.
He should maintain the laws of keeping good health. He should be always neat and clean. He must
avoid bad companions. He should be obedient to his parent, teachers and superiors. He must be
upright and truthful. He should learn good manners. He should be gentle and well–behaved. During
leisure he should take part in spreading education among illiterate people. During holidays and
leisure hours, they should try to help their parents in their house–hold works. They should so help
their motherland in any national calamity. A student of today is the citizen of tomorrow. So he
should utilize his student life properly.

The Stressful Life of College Students Essay
The Stressful Life of College Students
Modern life is full of demands, frustrations, hassles, and deadlines. Everyone experiences stress as
it is a natural part of human life. Our bodies have a built mechanism for responding to stress.
However, during a certain period of time, people tend to face more stress than usual. One of such
periods is college life. It can be very stressful for some people, especially for those who are not used
to carrying out with so many responsibilities. Students spend most of their time balancing classes,
projects, tests, final exams, personal life, and work; that is enough to make anyone feel

It becomes a problem to manage time effectively and distribute it to have balance. A lot of students
are used to leaving all the work for the last minute. They follow a false idea that everything can be
done before the deadline. However, it is not the case with education. Procrastination makes students
do things halfway and not retain all needed information.
The effects of constant stress on a student's body are devastating and may have long–term
consequences. When stress escalates without coping with it, numerous troublesome psychological
and physiological conditions may occur. First, the stressful life of college students may result in such
physical problems as sleeping disorders, breathing difficulties, headaches, and a loss of appetite. In

shows a bit of initiative to gain more knowledge of the job, they may see an opportunity to
slightly move up in the company. The latter is my situation. My experience and knowledge of my
department and its systems have afforded me the opportunity to move up within the department

desire to help shape young minds. I have seen what a difference teachers can make, and having the
opportunity to be the person who makes that difference is so rewarding. I have also seen some of the
challenges that come with the teaching profession. My past, present, and future in education have all
affected and will continue to affect me as I progress further along this path. My past experiences in
education has greatly shaped my view of the teaching profession. I have had many influential
teachers and teacher figures in my life that have...show more content...
At DCS, I met several of the teachers that influenced me. One of them was my science teacher,
Mrs. McKimmey. She guided me and inspired me in many ways. I really struggled with science,
but she always did whatever she could to help me succeed. She modeled to me what a good teacher
looks like. All the students felt that she was someone to go to for guidance or advice. I saw what an
influence teachers could have on students through her example.
Through DCS, I received an amazing opportunity that really helped lead me to the path of
teaching. They offered a program called Student Aid. During my senior year, I participated in
this program. For two hours, every day I was able to go into the kindergarten classroom and assist
the teacher. I got to lead small group activities, read with the children, work with those who were
struggling, and really see what goes on behind the scenes. This experience was one of the biggest
influences as far as my decision to become a teacher. I found how rewarding it can be to work with
children and have an influence in their lives. One of the most rewarding feelings was watching the
students understand a concept after working on it with them. While I saw how challenging teaching
could be, I also realized how important it is.
Looking at the different kinds of metaphors that could represent teaching, one that I feel relates well
is looking at a teacher as a gardener. I think that teachers plant

Essay On Students Life

  • 1. The Impact Of Computer Technology On Students We are living in the age of computers technology. In the recent decade, these machines became a very popular and an important part of the human's life; as a result, today we are surrounded by computers everywhere. We have computers at homes, educational institutions, offices, hospitals, banks, supermarkets and so on. However, we cannot deny this fact that computers are given great importance in the education sector and students are the key part of it. Different studies have revealed (Study link is given below) that computers have many advantages on numerous significant areas of a student's life, for example, in the field of education, entertainment purposes and building social relationships. However, students can have serious Educational, Physical, social and psychological disadvantages from prolonged computer use. This essay provides an overview of the impacts of computer technology on students. Today computer is an essential tool for students in the educational sector. It can store huge amount of data at one place so students can save notes assignments and books in it. It reduces the amount of the books students need to carry physically because many online stores like Amazon sell the soft copy of academic books which is always cheaper and no shipping is required for that. There are several software programs available to help student enhance their learning skills, for example, improving vocabulary, writing skills, including grammar as well as spelling check, getting easy Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Teacher 's Impact On Students Richard Her Professor Sheppard English 107 1 February 2015 Teacher's Impact on Students Have you ever had a class where you felt that your time went down the drain? There is this expectation of teachers to teach student to be successful and to think critically. When students are failing or falling behind, we tend to think that it is because they are lazy and just don't care about their education since they don't put in the effort. But what if it's the teacher who is at fault? What if some of those teachers are putting students down? Teachers could also be the main reason why students are also failing. Although it's the responsibility of the students to do their assigned work and to find ways to understand what it is that they are being taught, teachers who have higher standard than teachers who don't are more likely to get better results from students. In the article, "I Just Wanna Be Average," author Mike Rose says, "students will float to the mark you set" (Rose 2). If the teacher set high standards than students will put in more effort but if the teacher is disillusion or monotonous then students will just stop caring. Rather, a student learns or put in the effort greatly depends on themselves and the teacher. A teacher cannot help student if they do not make the effort. A student cannot hope to be successful in a class if the teacher doesn't offer to help or treat everyone on the same level. Throughout the story, Rose gives examples of how teachers are a vital part Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Students and University Life Adjustments Students and University Life Adjustments Human life consists of various stages and each stage has its own characteristics and features. Proceeding through these stages is a joyful experience and human beings always long for the next stage to come. No doubt, people enjoy recollecting old memories but there is always a charm in imagining the time to come. It is valid for all individuals but for the students, the next stage is the symbol of progress and development. Students particularly wish for the next stage which they see their seniors passing by and long for the same phase to come in their life. Entering university life is one of the most special events of students' lives. It is because of multiple reasons. The first and foremost reason is its being the highest level of educational institute one can attend in life. University provides maximum learning and development opportunities to students. Furthermore, as the universities go global, their cultures become diverse and provide the students with an environment in which they learn about various countries, their backgrounds, preferences and cultures. University education is not the same as imparted in school and college. The teaching methods are different, so are the contents and teaching styles. In many universities, choices related to class schedule are also given. All these aspects make university a charming place and students wish to start their university life with enthusiasm. This paper gives an idea about the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Stress Among College Students Essay examples College is a time of extreme stress due to societal and parental pressures. College students have expectations they have to live up to in order to fulfill and satisfy the needs of both their parents and society. Stress is expressed through a variety of symptoms that can be hazardous to student's physical and mental health. With such high expectations to do well during college, students may become sleep deprived, which impairs mental capacity, but sleep deprivation is only one of a vast array of symptoms. Stress is present in all aspects of life and there are multiple causes of stress, especially, during the college period which may present itself through many symptoms, but with stress, there are also various coping methods to help students...show more content... According to Lupien, McEwan, Gunnar, and Heim (2009), going off to college involves significant adjustments to their daily routines; sleeping and eating habits, time–management skills, and stress levels will be altered in one way or another. First–year students have to adjust to the new school environment, different social settings, and new schedules, all without the help and guidance from their parents, who have been there for them for eighteen years. Over 30% of college freshman report that they feel overwhelmed (Klainberg, Ewing, & Ryan, 2010), where some students even opt to work as they juggle their class and work schedules. Some students work at a job or study harder than others, but they are all trying to get degrees so maybe one day they will have meaningful and significant lives. It is a constant struggle for everyone who is trying desperately to make him or herself into a success. And every college student wants to be involved in society in a positive manner, allowing contribution of their ideals and values to others. Stress in college is caused by many other influencing factors. One of these important factors would have to be the expectations set by parents. They are normally the reason students are in college, so pleasing them by getting good grades is almost mandatory. The thought of displeasing out parents can be detrimental to our thought process; meaning that it most likely would cause impaired Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. International Students Essay example Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that studying in a different country is a privilege because they are able to experience other cultures, and learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot handle it very well. Therefore, in the United States the life of an international student is very unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to learn a new language to study, they cannot work while studying, and their tuition is much more expensive. When people moves to the United Stated to study they...show more content... They know their structure and have a very superior vocabulary, so they can compose excellent essays. In addition, since American students speak English very well, they do not have any problem participating in class. They have confidence in themselves, so they will not be afraid of saying something wrong. Consequently, because American students do not have to learn any language to study their mayor, it is much easier for them to achieve excellent grades. Most university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money in order to be independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent from their parents or whoever is responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very difficult because they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for an international student to find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is not going to have any problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted to get a job in order to have his own money. • 6. Essay on Dorm Life Dorm Life College can be great; living with your roommates can be a nightmare. But wait......before you throw in the towel, make sure you know and understand the rules of a dorm room. Dorm life is something almost every college student must experience. It's not as easy as it seems either. Most of the time students will try to room with people they know, but normally a student can't be that lucky to make that happen. It can actually be easier living with people who are complete strangers, than living with people that have been there through life. The first thing to accomplish is knowing the fact that in a dorm room, everyone has a job. Everyone in the room must provide certain things. For example, one should bring the...show more content... But try not to sound blaming and angry either, as if they are a horrible person; that will make them defensive. In both your choice of words and tone of voice, strive to come across as one friendly, reasonable adult talking to another friendly, reasonable adult. You have something important you want to say, and you assume they'll listen." Being inconsiderate with one another is something else many roommates have problems with. Classes are at different times, so waking up to get ready for class with occur at different times as well. A roommate may get to sleep longer than another roommate. So if there were another room, to not make problems, it would be best to get ready where the other roommates can't be disturbed. Slamming things around, and being loud in general is neither considerate nor respectful of the other people living there. Problems will more than likely occur and living together will be much harder. Every College student should know, you must be considerate with one another or else your living situations are going to have a downslide. You can't take for granted that your roommate, or anyone else, will know what you want or do what you think they should. People aren't mind readers. To get results, you have to communicate assertively, expressing your wishes, feelings and needs Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. My Life As A Student My life as a student has been a fairly good one. I've received good grades throughout all my years of high school and pride myself as an intelligent individual. But my individual ability to grow and learn has been always changing and shifting as I have grown. I think that currently, I am at a low point in my mindset and learning ability, but there is hope on the horizon. This essay will explore the growth and mindset of Will Roser, and how I can grow as a learner, friend, and individual. As a student, I have some habits that I rely on, both good and bad. I am usually a good student, receiving above average grades and I am moderately happy with them. My strength is that I always get everything done on time. I never have an excuse because my work is always done. I pride myself on that fact. And although that may seem like a good quality, the fact that I procrastinate so much does affect how good that work may be. So yes, I always finish my work which is always a good thing, but it may be at the expense of my sleep schedule. I tend to do most of my work the day before, despite telling myself over and over again that it needs to be done earlier. Luckily I have hope for my habits as I am still young. I still have to work on my procrastination but I think that I can improve as long as I start to see the benefits of starting work early. As William James says in his essay Habit, "The period between twenty and thirty is the critical one in the formation of intellectual and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. A Teacher Can Impact A Student 's Life Confucius, a famous Chinese teacher said, "Education breeds confidence. Confidence breeds hope. Hope breeds peace." In the previous quote by Confucius, it is obvious that a teacher can impact a student's life. Moreover (TRANS), the way a teacher generates hope and confidence provide a good equity at school for the students; therefore, a good teacher spread confidence in students, which may help them to be encouraged. Maintaining the right balance of strictness and friendliness, encouraging students, and finding the right teaching methods for each student are three of the many characteristics in becoming an inspirational teacher. First, maintaining the right balance of strictness and friendliness is one of the most impactful factors for a teacher who (AC) tries to have an appropriate relationship between students. Also, instructors are supposed to follow up with their students to understand students' difficulties and their situation in life. Providing an email address, phone number, and office hours help students to keep in touch with their instructor. However, teachers need to keep the balance between friendliness and strictness; moreover, an inspirational instructor needs to set up some rules for the classroom environment. For example, the instructor may request students politely that they are not allowed to use their phone during the class because it distracts them from paying attention to the class and subject. However, instructors should not be hard for their students Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. School Life And College Life Essay An Essay on School Life and College Life There is a great deal of difference between school life and college life. School life is a life of restrictions and control, a life in which the student has to be accountable for his daily work to his teachers and his guardian. But a college student, of the other hand, enjoys much greater freedom from control and supervision; he is, to a very large extent, the master of his own destiny. It lies with him to make it or mar it. At school the students has to be in attendance for fixed hours every day. He has to leave home at ten or eleven and return at four at college, however, the hours of attendance very. Sometimes, a college student has hardly time in the morning to gulp his food; at others, he has enough time to lounge about for a few minutes after a leisurely meal. On some days he returns early from college; or others, it is late evening by the time he gets back home. He has ample time at his disposal to use, abuse, or misuse. At school the student has to prepare his daily lessons and may be taken to task for what he has left undone. But at college he can do his lessons daily, or not...show more content... At school, students acquire habits of discipline and regularity. They have to practice obedience and follow instruction. But at college students are expected to develop a sense of responsibility and personal initiative. In other words, what a school student has to do under com–pulsing is done by the college students out of his greater sense of responsibility. Of course it has to be admitted that college life offers greater scope to a student to go astray. It he takes himself light–heartedly, he will have to suffer. It he allows arrears of studies to accumulate he will pay the price with failure and disgrace. Hence a studious pupil improves more rapidly at college than at school; but a waster comes quicker to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My Life As A College Student Essay Over the course of the last semester, I grew tremendously, not just as a writer but as a student. I learned skills and tactics that will last me throughout my life and will benefit me once I begin the next four years of my life as a college student. This early gateway into college writing provided me with exposure to the expectations that I will face in the college classroom. This will come in handy in the English classroom, as well as in every subject I will face over the course of the next four years, and beyond. Writing is a key skill that communicates ideas and information, and is essential to being successful. Whether I go into the music industry or find myself in a completely unforeseen career, it is certain that I will use my writing skills at some point. This class sharpened those skills and prepared me for the future in ways no high school english class could. This class has challenged me to think more in depth than I ever have before. It forced me to use my writing as a means of expressing knowledge, ideas, and facts in a clear organized manner. In order to accomplish the goals of each paper assigned, I found new ways to present the same information. For example, in every essay I included the theme that governments should be more involved in the fight against cyber warfare. However, I presented this idea in each paper in different forms. In the summary, I simply stated what an author of a certain article had to say about this idea. In the critique, I discussed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Negative Effects Of Technology On Student Life Negative Effects of Technology on Student Life Technology has become an ever increasing necessity in the modern life students. Students are starting to get too used to having technology there, and they do not know how to function without it. Walking through a high school or college today, almost every student would either be on their phone or have it with them somewhere. Over the years, technology has improved immensely. It has become faster, more efficient, and easier to access. As a result, the youth of today are more reliant on the use of their devices. Technology has created many advancements in the world today, however, it has also negatively impacted students ability to have social interactions, their overall academic performance, and everyday attitude toward life. Technology affects the way students interact socially with other students, teachers and administration, and can cause an extreme amount of social skills. Although not all students are influenced negatively by technology, it does cause an issue for many. "One striking negative effect of digital technology consumption is how it diminishes our capacity for empathy by limiting how much people engage with one another" (Ives). In today's society, students are used to just emailing their teachers and administration when they have questions. Having immediate access to email causes them to not be able to speak well to the adults at their school. This also takes a toll on students social skills. Because they are so used to emailing, texting, snapchatting, etc., most students are bad at talking to adults and the administration at school. This can cause an extreme issue when it comes time for students to interview for jobs, colleges, or scholarships. Another thing that technology affects negatively is the amount of bullying and teacher bashing through social media. Students think that if they put things on their social media accounts, that the school cannot do anything about it. They think that since they are not in school then it is fine to put things online. This creates an excessive amount of cyberbullying. Kids have more courage to say rude things online than they would in real life. They do not have the ability to even speak in real life, as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Life Of A College Student Essay Time sure does fly by! It feels as if it was just yesterday when we threw our graduation caps up in the air. What will our future hold after we enter the next chapter in our lives? Many are encouraged, debating, or even forced to enter their new chapter into the life of a college student. High school graduates are given limited options in the generation we live in today. We grow up to believe that success comes with the development of education as you grow from a pre–schooler to an adult. Many don't continue their education because they don't want to live off of a piece of paper their entire life. Parents and teachers influence students to continue their education after high school; it increases their chances for the future career they pursue. Graduates should continue their education because they gain independence, knowledge, and creates financial stability. Several students who have part time jobs believe they make enough money; therefore, they don 't consider being open–minded of future careers ahead of them. An example of a job that influences young adults to believe that they make enough money to maintain their lives already are factories like Walmart DC. Those students may be influenced by their parents because their mother or father didn't continue their education either while still conserving enough money in their savings account. Parents are role models to their kids whereas having motivation will only inspire students for further success. Some may think that they Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Essay about My Life My Life I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, and moved to California when I was very young. Before I moved to California my dad traveled back and forth for 2 or 3 yrs from California and back to Costa Rica. He spent most of his time working in the Fresno area, in the cities of Tulare, and Visalia. He says he spent his time working in any available job including some farm labor jobs and went back to Costa Rica to spend time with us. After the second time he left Costa Rica to come and work he did not go back. At that time, amnesty was given to immigrants in California, and he moved up north to the Bay area to find a steady job. That is when he saved enough money for my mother, my two siblings, and I to join him in California. My first...show more content... I was in ESL programs until I entered junior high school. Learning the language, and trying to keep up with the class work was a challenge for me. Having friends who spoke my language, and the English language as well was an advantage I had. Having that extra help and support really made my school experience challenging, but exciting as well. Remembering the support I received from those friends creates a need in me to do the same for other people. I don't only believe that the support that I can give to migrant students as a Mini–Corps student will help them in succeeding in school, but I believe that an appreciation for school can be gained as well, and hopefully bring insight for continuing their studies beyond high school. As I improved in my English I also grew an interest in writing. I enjoyed my English classes, along with my math classes too. My interest grew and grew, and I joined summer girl programs. After participating two year, I became a mentor to those new peers coming into the program. I worked with teachers in Science, and in Math classes. I also participated in the volleyball activities, and group activities. This is when I realized I wanted to work with youth my whole life. My interest in English, and my interest in being a role model to youth made me decide to become an English teacher, especially working with students whose first language is not English. • 14. How will college change my life "How will college change my life?" Colleges are institutions of higher learning; I would go to college simply to make more money. College could be described as a rite of passage, where future working men and women step out from sheltered childhood lives into an independent place of learning. It is different from the original schooling most children receive as there is a more in–depth workload that requires more studying. College will change my life as I am open to many fields of study, expanding my mind and giving a glimpse of what to expect when I step out into the working world. As college students, we as students must have a fierce ambition to accomplish a balance between a healthy, steady social life and a bright academic future. Communication is an important tool in life, not just inside college that broadens our horizons and makes us more intelligent generally. The future working men and women who enter college are adults and will be treated as such. An adult is one who has matured to know what is right and what is wrong. The importance of a rule is a line between right and wrong that many places including colleges have as a guiding tool. College students who enter are expected to follow rules as the rules are meant to protect us and set a guideline. Adults also know how to be self–sufficient, being able to do their work, without anyone's help or stealing someone else's work: plagiarism. College is where we are expected to perform to the best of our abilities because as students we have a fierce ambition to get ahead by earning a degree. College is a chance to be free and is a bridge between the real world and school. I'm an adult and expected to behave as such; I make my own choices where I have to decide what is important to me. I have an opportunity to learn how the world works, to explore the limitless possibilities and a chance to admire how vast knowledge can be. • 15. Short Composition on The Student Life [Hints: introduction, its importance, duty of a student, conclusion] The student life is the best period of our life. It is the time during which boys and girls get their education in different educational institutions. The life is free from all sorts' anxieties. This is the time when a student gathers knowledge, builds up his character and prepares himself for the future life. His future life depends on how he spends his student life. • 16. How Education Has Changed My Life Essay These past four years have really been a life changing experience. From a childish freshmen not only at school but at home too, to a still sometimes childish senior, one who knows when and how to control himself. This school and its teachers have taught me so many lessons that will not be forgotten any time soon. You can probably imagine how nervous and maybe even a little timorous I was, my first day at Barstow High. It was not very simple to get accustomed to, coming from Hinkley School, which contained approximately four hundred and fifty students at most, to a big crowded hall ways of Barstow. Most of those videos were documentaries which were interesting if you paid attention. Another class that I enjoyed was English 2 taught by Mrs. Smith. Yea some people think she is though on her students, that's because she is but I think that it has a purpose. She gives some challenging assignment that nobody wants to do but somehow she motivates us to complete them. I remember two projects that were fun and effective, not only as school work but to help sharpen our people skills. One of those projects was to write a children's story book based on an activist from the civil rights movement. Once we completed our book we took part in a field trip to two elementary schools here in Barstow, once there we assigned to a five person groups and we also received a list with the room numbers that we were to visit. We read our books to first as well as to second graders. After we I finished I had some of the children write their named on the back of my book. The second project we were assigned that year and that I enjoyed was to research two authors from the 1800s or so, in collaboration with a partner that we got assigned to. For the first author we had the option to either create a power point presentation or create our own website about that particular author. My partner and I choose to build our Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. My Personal Goals as a Student Essay My Personal Goals as a Student An obvious goal as a working adult returning to school is, of course, to earn a degree. My overall goal is no different than any other student, however, I also have several personal goals I hope to achieve while attending the University. Some of these goals are to acquire new skills and enhance my current business abilities, to apply what I learn in the classroom to forward my career, and to feel personal satisfaction of finishing something I started. Already having experience in the business world has proven to me that it is essential to have skills to maintain and improve daily functions. At the same time, if a person does all of these things, but shows a bit of initiative to gain more knowledge of the job, they may see an opportunity to slightly move up in the company. The latter is my situation. My experience and knowledge of my department and its systems have afforded me the opportunity to move up within the department over the past five years, but I'm beginning to see a limit of how far those skills alone will allow me to climb. Being an expert in my field of pharmaceutical benefits doesn't translate into managing personnel just as knowing how to complete a task doesn't mean I'm able to give a clear presentation on how it should be done. Sure, I've been rewarded for the work I've done and knowledge I've obtained, but at some point, my employer will eventually see that more is needed to continue to promote me to higher, more management focused positions. My goal is to complete these courses and obtain my degree to prove that, if the situation arises, I can be the right person for the job. A more personal goal of mine is to finish what I've started. At DCS, I met several of the teachers that influenced me. One of them was my science teacher, Mrs. McKimmey. She guided me and inspired me in many ways. I really struggled with science, but she always did whatever she could to help me succeed. She modeled to me what a good teacher looks like. All the students felt that she was someone to go to for guidance or advice. I saw what an influence teachers could have on students through her example. Through DCS, I received an amazing opportunity that really helped lead me to the path of teaching. They offered a program called Student Aid. During my senior year, I participated in this program. For two hours, every day I was able to go into the kindergarten classroom and assist the teacher. I got to lead small group activities, read with the children, work with those who were struggling, and really see what goes on behind the scenes. This experience was one of the biggest influences as far as my decision to become a teacher. I found how rewarding it can be to work with children and have an influence in their lives.
