VRM: Why is it growing ?  Attitudes are evolving regarding online advertising & privacy  The consequences of the explosion of data quantity and processing is possibly leading to a “creepy” ad world  Online Customer empowerment is still in its infancy, but progressing very fast  Regulation is on its way (think 3rd party cookies)

VRM: What will it take to deploy at scale ?  Better awareness and education of end users  A new environment of TRUST, either through a 3rd party or thru a decentralized personal cloud to store the customer’s data  Killer usages invented by killer apps (with great UX enabling adoption with little/no training !)  Find the right business model (=who pays)   Receive cash or promotions to sell your data, your intent data, your profile,… Pay to protect your personal data, to choose your ads
  • 6. VRM: When will it be here ?  Hard to tell !  Very high stakes : Large entrenched players could be disrupted by this new approach (think Direct marketing, all cookie based schemes,…)  The time is ripe for innovation to happen : Startups are at the forefront of this new wave: watch this space !
