2. Information about the Cuttle fish Cuttlefish as their name suggests are not actually fish; these sea animals are molluscs, which are amongst the most intelligent species. These are very clever when it comes to changing their colour and patterns to suit the environment. The cuttlefish is found in areas of the English Channel, along the West coast of Africa to the Southern tip of the continent and also in the Mediterranean Sea. The cuttlefish belongs to the Sepiida class which also includes the Squids, the Octopus and the Nautiluses.
3. Skin Cuttlefish are sometimes referred to as the chameleon of the sea because of their remarkable ability to rapidly alter their skincolor at will. Cuttlefish change color and light polarity to communicate to other cuttlefish and to camouflage themselves from predators.
4. Diet Diet The preferred diet of the cuttlefish is crabs and fish.[11] The cuttlefish uses its camouflage to hunt and sneak up on its prey. When it gets close enough, it opens its eight arms and shoots out two long feeding tentacles. On the end of each is a pad covered in suckers that grabs and pulls prey toward its beak.
