whole lecture, or the parts of the
lecture relevant to their learning
needs. (Gartner, 2011)

14. Does This Help? Does it Work?
Better Grades: Students who review recordings more
tend to have higher scores on tests and in classes. (Brittan-
Powell, 2010)
Supports Differentiated Learning: Teachers have a
variety of lectures where students can move at their
own pace and select content most conducive to their
needs (Cornwall-Lebanon School District, 2011).
Higher Parental Involvement: Parents felt more
connected to teachers and student learning activities
when having access to recorded lectures. (Tamaqua School
District, 2009)
15. Considerations & Implications
Not a replacement for teachers.
Bad teaching is, well, bad teaching…period!
Not an assessment tool fully in itself.
Students without Internet at home –download or
watch recordings at school or play on mobile devices.
Policies and acceptable use for recording (teachers
and students).
Copyright and Fair Use Rules Still Apply.
16. Suggestions for Using Tegrity
Be natural…be yourself!
It’s ok to make mistakes.
Don’t be camera shy.
Find an appropriate picture.
Do practice recordings to test for audio level and to become
comfortable with recording.
Moving vs. copying lectures – select the most appropriate.
Review your recordings. Seek areas of improvement.
Hide recordings as opposed to deleting them.
17. Recommendations for
Deployment
Good Audio is Key
Think About Your Surroundings Should You Video
Have “Model” Tegrity Recordings
Identify “Champion” Teachers
Use the Data Tools at Class Level & Administrative
Level
Train Teachers, Parents, & Students --- have
Consistent Follow-Up
